What would be the best way to clean vintage Kenner figures without damaging them? Would a simple soap & water job be okay or is that a no-no?

Also is frosting ever known to happen on unpackaged figures? If so, what causes is it and what could I do to be rid of it?

There's a step-by-step article on cleaning action figures in general [link=http://actionfigures.about.com/od/maintainingyourcollection/ss/how_to_clean_figures.htm]here[/link]. Note that using soap and water probably wouldn't work too well on figures with cloth accessories, such as capes (unless you can safely remove them).
