VIP or MOD status...

What does it take to be considered a VIP or another title that would allow a colored name?

I'm relatively new and I've jsut been wondering...

 

To be a VIP, you can do one of several things. You can be a Fanforce Chapter Rep (they're blue), elected to be the EU Senate Chancellor, or win one of the many games that the communities hold around the boards (including Teh Mole here in WNU).

To get more colors, and longer, you have to be a moderator or higher. That's a bit more difficult. Don't express any interest in becoming a mod, or you basically won't get chosen. That's what I hear, at least.

 

You could also be a celebrity, or a Star Wars author. Not too many of the former, but a few of the latter. You could also submit a banner during a banner contest.

Becoming a mod and being a mod is difficult, and takes at the very least a year to achieve. But for most, mods have been here several years before ever being promoted. There has to be an available need for a mod, then there are nominations, then a voting process within the mod private board.

Communications would be a good place worth checking out.
