HamptRds, VA Virginia Zoo Boo On Nov. 1st

Virginia Zoo Boo is on for Nov. 1st.

HRR FanForce has been invited again for Nov. 1st 2009 (Sunday). We've been involved with this for the last 2 years, so most of us know what to expect. Zoo will make accomodations for changing and food/drinks. Weapons props are allowed.

They're expecting over 9,000 people.

The timeframe will be between 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Get there at 9:00 AM. If the timeframe is too long for you, you may come later, but be forewarned, parking will be difficult. Obviously, do what you can, and stay as long as you can.

This is a costume heavy event, so if you got one, wear it. It doesn't have to be Star Wars-related either (e.g. Comic Superhero, Anime, Kids Cartoon character, other Sci-Fi). If you don't have a costume, you can certainly still help out: passing out candy around to the kids, assist with patron photography, and working as handlers/wranglers.

Family members are NOT COMPED IN unlike previous years. They must pay to gain entry into the park.

Sorry. I just found out yesterday.

 

Let me just clarify this with the Zoo Boo contact. That is, family members who dress up and assist within our group will get in for free. That is the issue I will get clarified.

Family members who dress up and assist our group will be comped in.

Of course, as an event that meets the criteria of our FanForce policy, the type and quality of the costume are irrelevant.

The forecast for tomorrow is rain, mid-50s. I'll check weather conditions again tomorrow in the AM.

I'll be talking with one of the Zoo Boo reps hopefully tomorrow morning about the weather, so I'll keep everyone apprised.
