not in an official capacity. i will be at the fanforce table and the 501st table throughout the weekend. its a smaller con but the last 2 years have been alot of fun

What exactly is Visioncon?

 

its a small convention in springfield that has fans of all sorts of "different" sci fi and fantasy fields.i know the 501st will be there as well as the springfield fanforce. it usually has a pretty decent um nitelife. its alot of fun.

 

Will many folks be there from St Louis? Will ya all be as Star Wars characters?

 

Sounds very interesting. Susan and I (Brandon) will look into making it. We are going to Dragon Con so we may not have the funds for it but since it is just down the road and I have family in Springfield we could make it on a low budjet.

 

the guys and gals from the 501st in st. louis usually show up and yes those of us with costumes will be in them. look for me i'll be the fat imp. either tie, gunner or clone

 

Matt, this looks like fun and hopefully I can make it. Trying to do C4 and all might make it hard, but I would love to try.

I made it two years ago. It was pretty good for a midwest con. Needs more SW events.

 

we try. the local fanforce will be there. go darksaber! as well as the 501st. i'm told the 501st is providing security for the con. rebel legion had a lackluster table last year with 2 members but they were there too. as well as the droid builders association

 

One thing I'll point out is that since the con is in[/i[ the hotel, the party doesn't stop. It just moves into individual rooms. There's a ton of alcohol and some guy there two years ago mixed something absolutely wonderful that I've been wondering what it was. It involved lime sherbet, sprite, ice, some sort of liquor and a blender.

But yeah. If you're into really wild parties, the room parties are the way to go. If not, consider staying elsewhere.

 

that drink is called MOJO. as for the rooms you can get a "quiet" hallway upstairs away from the parties.

 

Yeah. Mojo sounds about right. It was some great stuff.

And from what I heard a few people mention when I went, even upstairs you can occasionally hear the parties. But I'm a ridiculously light sleeper. If you're not, then you're probably safe.

 

i stayed at the hotel last year and slept fine.

 

I plan on going. All I've heard is good things about this one. It is small, but fun from what I'm told. I'll be wearing my Biker Scout costume.

My biggest concern is lodging cost so I'm trying to work out something.

 

Well I think Leash and I going. I will need a weekend by then. Maybe we could work something out...

 

Folks, I will do what I can to help out. Merrick and I live right around the corner from the Hotel so contacting one of us will be easy.

 

I am ready for a weekend now! LOL!
