Visiting Paris in July...

Hi,

My name's Tessa and I'm from the Canadian fourms. I just found out that July of this year I'm going back to Paris (was there about a year ago) to visit for awhile.

Sorry that I'm typing in english. Even though I live in Canada I've forgotten most of my french.

Since It's still 5 months away before I travel across the pond to visit I thought I'd introduce myself, and somewhat lurk around the boards for a bit.

Does anyone know if there will be any Star Wars events in Paris (or around paris) in July? Maybe while I'm down there I can meet a few of you (if I end up posting enough).

I don't think there will be any special event in July, because of holidays.
But we can have a meeting of course.
Do you know exactly when you come ?

 

It would be after July 2-4 because of a Sci-Fi convention in Toronto that I'm obligated to go to. So most likely the second week of July.

 

Most of us are on holiday at this time but we can try to do something
Don't forget 14th of July is public holiday here (National Day)

In Canada it's July 1st (Canada Day). I suppose that's a great time to be in France then.

 

Yep, there are fireworks and things, but don't forget some shops and maybe museum should be closed because of that.

I'm on holidays from 10th to 24th. We can meet on 26th for example, to have drink and so...

 

Anyone got a free round trip ticket to Paris? I sure do miss it over there. I think I'm already forgetting the French I remembered from a few months ago.

Oh and well, there is one geek spot I really enjoyed...over near the Bombadier...there's a Internet cafe. Can't remember the name of it offhand but that was a cool little spot and fairly inexpensive at that. Folks were playing SW Galaxies most every day I stopped in there.

Really? Play SWG? I think I might get withdraw in Paris... if I find this place I must surely check it out!

 

I'll see if I can come up with the name of it. I think I took a photo, but I'll have to check when I get back home. I do know it's very very close to the Patheon on one of the side streets. I remember it was to behind the Patheon. Down the hill from the Bombadier. Could have been one of the streets running parallel to the Bombadier. But I do know for certain the place was on the left side of the street as you walk down one of the paved hills.

 

Maybe "Rue des Ecoles" is the name of the street. There are a couple of Internet coffee shop where you can play MMORPG, Quake, and so...

I'm happy to see there is a fan force in Paris. I'm going to Europe soon and will be going to France for 3 days.

I need to brush up myself. I can read it, but speaking it I'm very rusty.
