    Interesting stuff guys.
I just noticed this one, don't know if it holds any significance, but i love Luke/Anakin parallels.

Villa del Balbianello! Real place where both movies were filmed.

I think I heard that George stayed at Lake Camo while he was writing AOTC. Maybe it was Crystal Skull. Maybe both. Nice how personal experience sinks in there.

I didn't have the access of screencaps of my own, so I had to make due with what I could find online:

I've been mostly sticking to my tumblr, and there's way too many right now to put them all here, but this one I have to put up, being a recent release...

Remote Demolition: The Phantom Menace and Oblivion

Spoilers: Mothership is blown up from the inside, and remote battle droid/drones deactivate down on the surface of the planet below. This also happened at the end of The Avengers, and what’s more the ringed explosion we have in Oblivion also recalls the ringed explosions of the seismic charges in Attack of the Clones and the revamped Death Star explosions from the Special Editions of A New Hope and Return of the Jedi.

Interesting. The one I noticed from "Oblivion" just the other night is three lights flying toward an horizon, much as Maul sends out three probe droids on Tatooine to search for Amidala.

That last image, by the way, reminds me more of at least one podracer hitting the dirt at 500 mph, transforming into a jangled mess of metal, smog, and silt.

Here's another good one: Mirrored shots of Naboo placed at the bookends of the Saga.

    One to show oppression
    [IMG]

    The other to show celebration
    [IMG]

Fun Fact: These are, as you may have guessed, the exact same model shot, just reversed and with different cgi elements placed in. Episode 1 was, obviously, in production while the special editions were being worked on.

    Brilliant! Love it!

Any more mirror examples withing the SW Saga?

It's a shame that this thread got derailed. The earlier stuff was great. George Lucas doesn't get enough credit for things like this.

    Agreed 100%

The site in my sig is another amazing collection of mirroring, symbolism and many of the things posted in this thread as well.

You could probably throw in Qui Gons death and Shmi's for an even stronger "verse" as well, but I like the duality between these two.

I'm sorry, but I just have to say, it's amazing how they recreate even split second moments like this. Even the camera angles are either identical or reversed perfectly. Makes you wonder how much was actually thought out

Forgot some text on above post, juxtaposing Seven Samurai's young lovers with Attack of the Clones meadow scene. Then I found that image of Shino and it reminded me of Padme's funeral.

Very cool. I actually just bought Seven Samurai but have yet to get the opportunity to watch it. I should change that soon...

I thought I'd revive this awesome thread.

This one's kind of cheating because it's from a deleted scene, but oh well.

Yesss, love that this thread is back. Is that deleted scene on the Blu Ray set, by any chance? Haven't got around to watching any of the deleted scenes on mine yet.

And just an observation that I made about Dooku's death. It is very interesting that the blue lightsaber is on top. If it was on the bottom, it could have been interpreted that the blue (the Jedi way) was trying to block and repel the red (the hatred in Anakin) from performing the killing blow. But with it on top, it is almost as though the blue is succumbing to and giving into the red, just as Anakin gives into his anger and to Palpatine when he executes Dooku. Very subtle and most likely unintentional, but also quite interesting from a visual standpoint.
