Does anyone have any screencaps of the 'Grievous' standing behind Anakin in the fireplace scene in AOTC that we can compare with actual Grievous in ROTS?

I think it's probably coincidence, but it's so eerie.

 

I know what your talking about but there was a lot of symbolism in that scene and none of it had anything to do with Grevious.

Its about the symbolism/foreshadowing of vader choking padme. The symbolism/foreshadowing of anakin getting burned in the next film and how fire represents his passion that he will be "consumed" by in ROTS and more things like that.

Later the Jedi are made to look morally ambiguous (and from Anakin's point of view, the same as the Sith) when Mace echoes Palpatine's line, only about Palpatine...
"He has control of the Senate and the courts. He's too dangerous to be left alive!"

To which Anakin again responds...
"It's not the Jedi way! He must live!"

I think it sums up this aspect of Anakin's turn beautifully.

Anakin: "How did you end up all the way out here in the outer rim?"

"If there is a bright centre to the universe you're on the planet that it's furthest from."

This is part of a much bigger parallel. Anakin is turned to the Sith when he saves the last Sith (Palpatine in ROTS) and turned back to the Jedi when he saves the last Jedi (Luke in ROTJ). Here Anakin reports to his Master about Palpatine's identity (Mace: "Are you sure? Anakin: Absolutely.)

Here Vader reports to his Master about Luke being on Endor (Palpatine: "Are you sure?" Vader: "I have felt him, My Master.")

Two comparisons to this ROTS deleted scene...

Firstly, AOTC...
Notice Anakin stands next to his two biggest loyalties at the time. In the AOTC scene, Padme refuses to rebel and join the Seperatists. In ROTS, the roles are reversed, and Padme's defiance of Palpatine symbolises the begginings of the Rebellion -









Also, ROTS/ANH...
Notice the dialogue of the two scenes.
Palpatine: "I understand your reservations completely Senator, and i assure you the appointment of governors will in no way compete with the duties of the senate."

This comment is proven to be a lie in the next episode with this exchange...
Tarkin: "The Imperial Senate will no longer be of any concern to us. I have just received word that the Emperor has dissolved the council permanently. The last remnants of the Old Republic have been swept away."
"That's impossible! How will the emperor maintain control wihtout the beuracracy?"
Tarkin: "The regional Governors now have direct control over their territories."

Nice little bit of continuity.
