Thanks 4 all the UPS! I'm sorry that I haven't been around much lately, but I have major exams starting on Wednesday, so I'm kinda busy freaking out at the moment!!!

CHAPTER 6:

When Jaina Solo left her parents' apartment later that day, she had a skip in her step and a big smile on her face. Leia had told her all about the envoy and their mission.

Jaina had learned that this diplomatic envoy was to consist of six members: Han, Leia, Luke, Mara, Jacen, and a female senator by the name of Riona Bariolé. Jaina had never even heard of Senator Bariolé, but Leia had assured Jaina that she was an extremely efficient young woman, who was utterly committed to the aims of the GFFA. At the time, Jaina hadn't inquired any further, because her mother's next comment absorbed all of her attention.

"Ah, yes, Jaina. You may or may not be interested to hear that Colonel Jag Fel shall guide the envoy into the Unknown Regions. He has kindly agreed to escort us to the Chiss capital world, Csillia." Said Leia.

The expression on Jaina's face at that moment suggested that she was VERY interested indeed in her mother's words. However, Jaina almost instantly feigned a casual air.

"Oh, really? Jag's going with you? That's nice," she said nonchalantly.

"Yes," replied Leia, equally as calmly, "I'm sure that he shall be an excellent guide."

Jaina permitted herself to smile slightly.

"Well, Mom, I don't suppose that you and Dad would like some extra company on this trip, would you? 'Cos if you want, I'm entitled to some leave at the moment. I could take it, and then I could come with you!"

Han looked at Leia and raised one dark brow. Leia met his gaze squarely, then turned back to Jaina.

"Why would you want to come on this trip, Jaina?" asked Leia, despite the fact that both she and Han were perfectly aware of the motivation behind their daughter's sudden enthusiasm.

"Em, I?" stammered Jaina, looking at her father for inspiration. Receiving only an innocently curious look in return, she was forced to rely on her own initiative. Luckily for her, Jaina took after her father, and her father just happened to be Han Solo. "D'you mean to say that I never mentioned to you how much I've always wanted to visit the Unknown Regions, Mom? I heard once that Csillia is completely covered in ice! Imagine that, a whole planet?"

Leia bit her lip, trying hard not to laugh. She found it hilarious that Jaina was so reluctant to admit the real reason for her interest in this trip. Jaina might be fearless in the cockpit of her X-Wing, and unafraid to engage a fully armed Yuuzhan Vong warrior in combat, and yet the prospect of admitting to her parents that she wanted to spend some time with her boyfriend was enough to turn her into a rambling idiot!

"It's amazing, but I never knew about your huge interest in frozen, ice-locked planets before, Jaina!" said Leia in mock astonishment.

"Yeah," agreed Han, "If I'd known about it before now, I would've taken you to visit Hoth, Kid."

Jaina had just sat there in silence, unsure of what to say. Her parents had launched into a bout of detailed reminiscences about the time that they had spent on Hoth. After the first five minutes or so Jaina finally cracked and said,

"So, can I come then?!?"

Leia put her head to one side in over-exaggerated thought.

"Well, all right then, Sweetie" she said after a while, "You can come with us,"

Jaina, grinning broadly, jumped up from where she was sitting and hugged both of her parents wildly, crying "Thank you so much!" as she did so.

"I s'pose you'll need to go to see wedge and get that leave of yours sorted out, Jaina?" said Han, knowing full well than the first call Jaina would go and make was unlikely to be work-related.

Jaina nodded, "Yeah, you're right. I'll go and find General Antilles right away, only I need to go to my quarters first. I have to, y'know, freshen up and stuff," she said vaguely.

As soon as Jaina had left the apartment, Han and Leia had surrendered to the laughter that they had been holding in while their daughter was in their presence.

Jag thought he felt a warm surge of love and affection deep inside, but it didn't come from himself. He thought that Jaina, via that "Force" of hers had sent it, but he shouldn't have been able to feel it in that case, should he? Jag didn't mention this strange occurrence to Jaina

Oh, very interesting developement. Are we going to get a force sensitive Jag ?

I got back very late last night when I got your pm, shelly but lovely chapter. You can just tell how happy Jaina is to seeing Jag again. I am too, but I feel bad she had to wake him up in the middle of the night.

Jaggie needs his sleep too but hmm, there could have been no shirt on that sleepy jaggie..

CHAPTER 7:

Tahiri Veila wandered through trees and vines, once again lost in the tangled jungle of her dreams.

?Tahiri!? called the voice relentlessly.

?I?m coming!? she gasped in response, ?I?m coming! Wait for me!?

But there was no reply, other than that familiar call, ?Tahiri!?

Seeing no other choice, Tahiri just kept on running. She had to reach the source of this call. Perhaps then these dreams would stop. It started to rain, gently at first, but then the raindrops fell from the grey skies in a torrent, making Tahiri cold and turning the ground beneath her feet into a gooey mess of mud that squelched between her toes.

Finally she drew near to the clearing that the voice came from. Tahiri slowed her pace, expecting every minute to fall and wake up from this strange dream. But somehow, this time was different. Tahiri managed to get closer and closer to the gap in the trees which served as an entranceway.

Slowly, nervously, Tahiri walked through the gap and entered the clearing. She looked around for the person who called her, but she saw no one. The clearing was deserted save for herself. All of a sudden, Tahiri noticed that the clearing wasn?t quite empty. In the far corner, almost hidden by the vines trailing from an overhanging tree, was a small pool of water.

Hardly aware of what she was doing, Tahiri rushed over to the pool and fell to her knees at the water?s edge.

As she looked down into the clear, still water, suddenly the dream burst into full colour. At first all Tahiri could see was her own reflesction; a small thin face, with green eyes, framed by short blond hair. The three scars on her forehead stood out starkly against her milky-pale skin. Then, the surface of the water seemed to shimmer, and Tahiri saw her reflection change. The hollows in her cheeks filled out, her scars disappeared and her hair grew longer. The most noticeable change however was the happy smile on the reflection?s face.

Tahiri gasped in surprise. Next to her own altered image in the water appeared that of a teenage boy. The boy?s ice-blue eyes peered up at her merrily. Tahiri didn?t know whether she should laugh or cry.

The face beside hers in the water was unmistakeable; from tousled hair, to blue eyes, to dimpled chin. It was the face of Anakin Solo. Anakin?s reflection in the pool looked so incredibly real! Anakin smiled the familiar lopsided grin that always used to melt Tahiri?s heart.

Tahiri, unsure of what to do in the face of this unexpected happening, tore her eyes away from the image in the pool. She looked over her shoulder, half-expecting Anakin to be sitting crouched behind her. He was nowhere to be seen. Tahiri realised that she was still all alone in an empty clearing. Sadly, she turned back to the pool, hoping to see Anakin there again, but all she saw was her own true reflection, looking heart-breakingly sad and lonely?


Tahiri awoke in tears to find Mara Jade Skywalker sitting beside her on the bed, a look of concern on her face. Luke Skywalker was standing by the bedroom door. His expression was equally worried.

?Tahiri? Are you all right?? asked Mara anxiously.

?It, it was only a dream,? stammered Tahiri, trying to hide the tremor in her voice.

Luke came over then and sat down beside Mara. ?What did you see in this dream of yours, Tahiri?? he asked in a deadly-serious voice.

Tahiri looked up bravely to meet his eyes. ?I?I was in a clearing. I saw a pool of water. When I looked into it I saw myself, but I looked different. My hair was longer and I had no scars on my head.?

Obviously sensing that Tahiri was holding something back, Luke looked keenly at his wife, then said, ?What else did you see?? The tone of the Jedi Master?s voice implied that he expected an answer.

?I saw myself in the pool, my reflection I mean,? Tahiri said shakily, ?but I wasn?t alone. In the pool it was me and?me and?? Tahiri let out a slight sob and found that sh
