Speculation VULTURE: Zack Snyder Is Developing a Star Wars Film Outside the New Trilogy

This announcement was worded similar to a rumor that came out before AOTC's production. There would be several Jedi, each with a different specialty.

 

Good news. Like I said earlier, he's a poor director. Flashy... yes. Substance... no, just no.

The thing is I'm a part of a fair few fandoms, and I thought I was used to spotting hoaxes by now. I guess the part of me screaming for a spin off just really wanted this news to be true.

 

I like Snyder, and as for his movies not having substance; I think it goes without being said, that it has more to do with the writing than the directing. The new Super Man movie looks good too

 

I thought this story sounded like hokum when it didn't site a single reference.

 

Ah, yes, new Disney published EU books that start fresh from Episode VII.

Yeah, mark me down for those.

 

Couldn't agree more. Whatever came up lacking for me in the prequels was tempered by the hours spent in the forums discussing rumors and speculation with fellow fans. I can't wait for the 7:SA to kick into high gear.

 

You never read a single EU book. So why would you start now? And the new book that is coming out has nothing to do with ST or EP7.

 

The idea is interesting, and Snyder would certainly do a visually impressive movie.

Isn't it a bit early for a spin-off ? I hope this is just a rumour & nothing comes of it "yet" .

 

Don't they usually block rumor threads when it turns out the rumor is false?

 

I've bagged on the idea of Whedon and Abrams doing new Star Wars, but they would still get me to the theater. Snyder would not.
