Is it an Infinities story then?
No. It's got plenty of EU, and it's in-continuity.
Then someone was not thinking correctly when they wrote that.
Anyways then where is it on the timeline?
It can not decide, somewhere between a few months and half a year after Yavin.
Lazy, what that quote means is that it's not intended to foreshadow anything that happens after ANH--everything in canon is still out there, they're just trying to recreate the fresh tone of stories that came out between '77 and '80.
For example, Leia is greiving over the destruction of Alderaan and Luke has no clue that Vader is his father.
The quote seems to take on a new meaning when you look at the fact that the Sequel trilogy now exists.
No it doesn't. Stop reading too much into a quote that was taken out of context by Wookieepedians.
You mean the quote that was used in the first few interviews and reveals of Brian Wood's series? You're right I'm reading too much in to it and the EU still counts.
It wasn't taken out of context by Wookieepedians. The page that Lazy Stormtrooper was referencing is this one --- it's a simply copy-paste from various interviews with no additional inferences, context, or commentary offered.
Wood is simply saying things in promos to get people's attention, especially potential new, non-hardcore Star Wars fan buyers, just folk who like the movies & want a comic.
