Yes it's still a ways off, but in getting ready for the MS Walk I thought I would go ahead and post this.

For those that are new, this is a walk for autism reaserch and the organization is near and dear to my heart since my youngest son is autistic. The Center for Disease Control has officially put the numbers at one child in 150 births will be diagnosed with autism. This is an epidemic that is worse than the polio epidemic of generations before us. Very scary.

Everyone is welcome to join. We usually escort the walkers to the starting line and cheer them on. They give us a booth and a changing area and the organizers love us - as well as the kids. There is always a need for people without costumes to help out at the booth, so don't hesitate to sign up if you don't have an outfit. This is the purpose of the So Cal Star Wars Alliance - to get all the fan groups out for a great event.

The walk has two major changes this year: it is in November and has moved to Balboa Park. The later date is good for those of us in costume and the location is a little more central than the Coors Amphitheater.

I have updated my personal donation page and you can click on a link to join the Southern California Star Wars Allicance Team. We will definitely be getting silk-screened logo shirts for this event. Maybe I can do a "concert shirt" on the back with the dates/locations of the previous walks. :)

Well that would be the shortest marriage in history if you did that, Colin. ;)

Honeymoon outranks the walk. Besides, it occurrs every year and marriages are supposed to be once in your lifetime. :D

What costume are you going to wear on walk day? The kids would probably love your Mando.

This is an multi-club event that includes FanForce, Rebel Legion, and 501st members. That's why we have the team name Southern California Star Wars Alliance. :)

Hey People! This event is coming up fast and I only have 4 team members signed up for my team.

We could use more bodies for this. Costumes are not required, just come and have fun with the kids and raise some money for a good cause.

The walk has been cancelled in San Diego, but there is another walk in Irvine on November 17th and the San Diego walkers have been invited to participate. Except for me having to work that weekend (mandatory as it's our Grand Opening), the rest of you can join the Irvine walk.

Here is a link to the info: [link=http://www.walknow.org/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=214843]http://www.walknow.org/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=214843[/link]

I have 8 special shirts for our team that I was going to offer, if you still want one it's $10/shirt. I have 2 Larges, 4 XLs (but I was going to keep one), and 2 2XLs. PM or e-mail if you're interested. These are high-quality digitally printed shirts with a "concert" schedule on the back of our past walks.
