Zekk's thoughts during "Jedi Under Siege"


Darkness
Blames and covers me
No dirt, this
Not so easy to wipe away
Intoxicating, stifling

Pain at my behest,
Blood on my hands -
This can never be undone.

Darkness
No bump in the night
Will frighten me now
Nothing can compete
With a look in the mirror.

When memories strike
I close my eyes tight.
Say it's a nightmare!
Though her hurt eyes
Glare and blind with light

Pain at my behest
Blood on my hands

Feelings of remorse -
Too late now
Comprehension -
Bought only at the unpayable price
No escaping this abyss that I have built

Pangs of adolescence -
Fear of unworthiness -
So terrible a lifetime ago
Insignificant in the face of this
No, nothing could have prepared me for this.

Pain at my behest
Blood on my hands
This can never be undone.

The Darkness robbed
A childhood and love I didn't see
Didn't appreciate
And left me here:
The shell of a man

Friendships: betrayed
Potential: destroyed
Trust: shattered
Dreams: demonized
And brandy eyes, bewildered in the face of this

lol; i've started my Zekk's-life-does-NOT-revolve-around-Jaina!! campaign, but i couldn't avoid that line...despite my locking the J/Z muse up for the day, she managed to put her stamp on it anyway oh well, at least she didn't take control of it like the next one...

Your eyes are bewildered
But determined
So young, still
Your brown eyes are innocent
You think there is still hope

Your friends watch anxiously -
The Wookiee sees what you do not
I have let the Darkness possess me
It will never go away
And I will not let you pass.

My name slides from your lips
You try to make me be the friend you knew
But then your eyes are orange
Your instincts take over
And now you know.

I am lost -
But I will not let you follow.

The lies -

Stifle these lies
In thin pillows
That always disappear
Bury doubts in my work
In breathing, eating, fighting
There are no tears
Escaping my eyes
At least -
None you can see.

The ghosts that follow
Are my only constant companions
From the edges
I observe
Past whispering
As old friends laugh and joke
Cry and love
Comfort and fight
Yet not even envy stirs within.

Loss of You - a Zekk poem

You took away your love
But that wasn't what crushed me
Do you think me still a child
Believing that romance is everything?
You share your lover's heart with a new man
But couldn't you have saved
A place for pranks, smiles and teasing?

Once, it was so uncomplicated
You were pretty
I was older
But it didn't matter
We had our grins,
Our childhood play
We did everything together -
Not because of a 'pre-destined romance'
But because of friendship
Why did you have to forget that time?

I don't always think of you -
I'm stronger than that
My life does not revolve around you
It's not like I'll waste away if I never see you again
But in the quiet moments
On sunny days
I feel the ache of memories
And loss of you

Friends I have -
Loyal and there when I need them
But I don't bare my innermost heart to them -
Not all the time.
Don't pity me -
I am not destroyed
Not a pet that waits and whines for its master
I am just a man
Who lost the friend he thought would be there
Forever

I don't survive or die because of your love
But I miss the friendly twinkle in your eye
