    You're right, the 'Jacen' collage is far more clearer than the 'Jaina' one. It sort of feels too spread out though in comparison - Maybe if the images were larger or if they were pulled closer together to the font in the center? - Just an idea. Nice added lens flare! It was placed perfectly and it really makes it stand out more.

    The blending on the second one is beautiful! Much improvement! This one I enjoy a lot.

    As for Padme, I wish I could draw like that, lol. It does look as though it could have possibly been drawn on Bristol board. It's a nice effect.

    "I just loved everyone's drawings here, and I wish I could draw myself (hopefully that will change soon)."

    Yes, hopefully it will. If you ever get around to it, indeed, throw it on up. :)

    Well, I had to make the pics smaller so they were sharper. I was afraid if I blew them up anymore then they would get blurry, as what happened to the Jaina one. Plus, I didn't want that pic to be crowded, so I experimented with spacing them out more. Make it a bit simpler maybe...

    Yeah, I was happy with the way that one turned out. It sort of reflects the Luke Skywalker Original ANH poster.

    Arsnl, I looked at the link you put up. It's got some good ones of the characters that were in the movie. Thanks for giving the link! But I saw that the EU characters on there looked like people that the webmaster took pics of. They didn't really look like what the characters in my mind and on the covers of the books look like. Hmm..

    Time to update again... :D

    I made this one last night. I was mainly experimenting with background, and text/picture blending. I think it turned out really well. Once again, Photobucket resized the pic, so you don't get the detail that the original 1024x768 pic had. Still looking for a site where you can load up pics without losing detail. Hopefully you like this one.
    [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v127/JediWars/darthvaderlava.jpg]

    I also made another picture. This one isn't Star Wars. I was fooling around with brushes and filters, and I came up with this. My girlfriend helped me out in naming it when she said "It looks like if you were going down to Hell." So, I have named this work Gateway to Hell. (I really hate resizing.. You can see lots more detail on the original, once again. ;) )
    [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v202/ScottsPics/Various%20Pics/gatewaytohell.jpg]

    I also did this one on the side, for my favorite band, Apocalyptica. I made them look a bit like comic book characters, and did a nice little background on it.

    Whoa. These are very different to what you've come up with before. The first image with Vader has a 'rotted' kind of feel to it. I think that's more from the colours you chose. It's very dark, which I'd say reflects Vader, but also eerie. The again, Perhaps it's just me.

    Gateway to Hell: Lol, good name. In a way, it sort of looks like there's broken pieces of glass scattered around the 'hole'.

    I've never heard of them, but I take it Apocalyptica is a Heavy Metal Band? Yeah, describing it as a comic book style sounds about right. It does have a 'drawn' look to them.

    Glad to see that your experimenting with PS. It's a lot of fun - I used to make anime wallpapers and that's how I usually came up with designs and such.

    Yeah, the Vader one is kind of eerie. It's like a lava background of sorts behind it... I was just doing stuff with filters on that one, then added in the Vader pic and did stuff with the name text.

    Apocalyptica, originating from Finland, is in fact a heavy metal band. But that's the only thing you could catagorize them as. Some would say they play classical music too... They do both. ;) They are a band made up of three members, and they started off doing songs by Metallica, a cover band of sorts. But here is the really cool thing about the band: they play songs on CELLOS! The cellos are distorted, making them sound much darker and heavier. I listen to these guys all the time. They actually help me when I am making Photoshop pics and such. It puts me in the mood. But they play soft music too, like I said. Most of their songs are loud, and some are really fast. It's insane how these guys can play. I respect them a lot; I wish I knew how to play a cello. Here are some of their videos (watch Hall of the Mountain King! It's AWESOME!): http://www.apocalyptica.com/media/videos.php

    Back on topic...

    I like taking breaks from the stuff I usually do and experiment with other things. It's the only way you can grow. :)

    I've been pretty busy lately, but I took some time to do another work in Photoshop. Here is my Darth Maul background I made for the FanArt Challenge this month.

    Now this I think is the best character collage you've made yet! It's very imposing and what better colour to use than red and black when working with Darth Maul. What I really like is that you've added in the best scene of when Darth Maul makes his entry, just before whipping out the double bladed lightsaber (awesome moment), and that you've also included Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan's battle ready poses on the sides of the door. That was a really neat idea. Great stuff. :)

    ---
    For some reason, .Ram files don't work on my computer, so I couldn't play the video you suggested from the site supplied. However, I did manage to find it elsewhere - even DL'd a couple of their songs too. I love me 'tally tunes and I totally got a kick out of hearing their rendition of "Fight Fire with Fire" and watching their "Enter Sandman" video. It is so nutty how fast they go. I was shocked when I heard him say they were going to play Grieg (I knew the title "hall of the mountain king" sounded familiar, but I just couldn't place it until I watched the vid) That rocked. They certainly know how to make Cello's sound interesting, that's for sure. Now I know where you got the quote in your sig from. ;)

    I've been busy working more lately, so I haven't had time to update this thread. Don't worry, more work is coming soon. I have lots of projects in mind.

    I did this one the other day though. It's a different work. It's not SW. I think it turned out pretty interesting. I call it Devil Star.

    [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v202/ScottsPics/Various%20Pics/devilstar.jpg]

    I have been working on some private projects lately though. Can't post those on here. It's stuff for other people. :)

    It reminds me of an ink blot, only colored. This may sound slightly bizarre, but as soon as the picture came up, I saw a face in the center and arms stretched out on the sides...and in a way, it also appears as though this 'person' is impaled. *shakes self* weird. I like how the orange bg has a look of spewing forth fire. It's a good title as it clearly exudes a demonic type aura. :)

    I could see this being used as a cd cover for a metal band.

    Well, here is my latest piece. I made it for my girlfriend (her birthday was Tuesday). She loves LOTR. She draws really good LOTR pictures. Maybe she will put some of it online someday..that would be cool. But anyways, I got her the Art of LOTR book and then made her this on top of it. I printed it out, glossy paper + highest quality ink, and needless to say, she loved it. :) Made me happy. I really think it turned out good too. Better than I thought it would.

    Comments, as always, are welcome and appreciated. :)

    I have no idea what my next project will be... But I have some time to think about it now. Inspiration will hit, I know it will. :) The above project took me about 2 weeks to do. The cutouts were kind of a pain... Well, some of them. The hobbit hair was the worst. [face_laugh]

    Great picture! Thanks for letting me get a sneak preview of it so to speak. It came out amazing, and I can just imagine how it looked when it was printed!

    Yeah, the hobbit hair doesn't sound like it would have been all that much fun. I feel for you, lol.

    It may have been a pain-staking process, but it sure turned out exceedingly well. I love how you've placed the sword in the centre with the ring at it's tip, even spiffier that you've used it as a divider. Also, the images look to be of of great quality as they are all very sharply defined. You can really tell that a lot of thought was put into it the arrangement and the choice of images used (the brothers of Gondor together, The Hobbits, Aragorn and Arwen, etc.)

    It also makes for a really cool gift. Nice work. ;)

    I imagine the hair must have sucked to cut out indeed, but the finished image looks very clean and professional. I like the composition of this, too, with the sword bisecting the page in half very neatly. I'm sure the printed one turned out to be an awesome poster!

    Wow, your wallpapers and banners are very good. I love them. (I'm also a fan of Apocaliptica, like my old brother)
    I'm a Jaina fan, so my fav. wallpaper is the Jaina Solo wallpaper.... :D
    I agree, there aren't many Anakin Solo pictures, but they are all quite cool.

    Hope you'll find some and keep working!

    Hey all! Been real busy, with college and everything starting. I am also getting a new job at Barnes and Noble starting very soon, so I'm excited about that. Been wrapping things up at my other job.

    I found some time last week to do this piece. I had a really weird dream one night, and I decided that I would make a Photoshopped picture of it. I described the dream in my LiveJournal. Don't ask me why I had the dream, LOL. But anyways, here's the pic. I think it turned out really good.

    [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v202/ScottsPics/darknessofthemind.jpg]

    One of our fellow members here, DarthMaul431, said that it reminded him of midichlorians. I had to agree. This picture, with the little "bubbles" floating around, and the bright light in the center... I think it kinda represents the conception of Anakin. What do you think?

    Comments, as always, are more than welcome. :)

    "The Conception of Anakin" - That's an interesting idea.

    I realize the lighting in general is subdued, but I find the light in the center to be somewhat dull. Perhaps it was your intention to make it appear as though it were just now suddenly forming, but I still think it should be a little more intense. The description of midichlorians seems to be a good one, as I do get the impression that I'm looking at some type of organism under a microscope. Also, the use of blue makes it very calming and soothing.

    Finally, I have a new SW background. I've been busy with college lately, and I haven't found time to work on a piece yet, but I have finished the piece that I've been working on for a while. I think the work speaks for itself. This piece is called, "Reunited".

    This is awesome. I absolutely love the pictures you chose of Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan and think you did an excellent job to make them look "one with the force". Also very much like the their positioning. I didn't see what the image you used as a background was at first, but a good second look shows me that it's Vader's boot on Obi's cloak, just after he 'defeated' him. This was very well put together. :)

    It's time for another update!

    As some of you might know, I have a deviantART account now. No, I won't stop posting here. :) I really like your constructive criticism on here, to those that post.

    Anyways, let's start the update, shall we?

    I have made many more pictures to go along with my "Star Wars digital drawing series". I had much success with the Padme one, and I wanted to do more of these types of works.

    That's a pretty decent sized update. I see that someone has been busy. :)

    Perhaps it's not the effect you were going for, but these tend to strike me as old photographs. The promo pic of Obi-Wan and Anakin together ("Enemy Comrades" - interesting title, btw) epecially gives me this feeling since they are posing in a way that could be looked at as a family protrait of sorts. But the same can be said of the other ones like "Sith Lightning" where the rain kind of has the effect of making the picture to appear worn and crinkled with age or even in "Dark Gaze", as one could almost look at it as if it were faded.

    Anyways, the work put into manipulating these images were decently done. Maybe a little high on the contrast for "Dark Gaze" for a drawn type of look (but good for my thought as a faded photograph ;) ).
