I think AotC is the first time John Williams has used waltz music or music composed in triple time before in a Star Wars movie. Where the music time is One-two-three, One-two-three. The music for the scenes on Kamino and when Count Dooku rides off on his speeder bike are waltzes. It gives everything a kind of elegant feel.

    Yes. Yes, it does.

It's not the first time, however. Not the way Williams composes. Because his scores are so 'fluid' and are meant to be melded with films that aren't edited in any particular time signature, he quite often uses odd/compound (right word?) time signatures just to make beats match. Anyone who's tried to sight-read any Williams piece can attest to this - his is not easy literature! :D

Oh, yes...John Williams is very hard to read...i've tried a couple times, and It usually takes me a week before it starts to sound even close. Very interesting scoreing style, but it flows very well. nice observations, pahket. :)
