I was just watching The Empire Strikes Back at the scene where the Wampa chokes the Tauntan. In it you can clearly see the "RED" colored arm of the operator as well as some of his curly brown hair. You can see about half of the scalp too. George Lukas can take you almost anywhere but not the flopps out of his movies. Maybe stop adding so much of what's not broken and fix what is.

Yeah, well that's a MISTAKE from 1978 when Geroge Lucas still hadn't gone "crazy" or "senile", right HATERS?

So, quit with the special edition references. He let that go back when he was still your hero.

^^^ Interesting remarks. This Wampa scene is something that seems to come up regularly, and is something that Lucas could have easily fixed during the preparation of the SE's or the S-SE's (or whatever the DVDs are called). I wonder why he didn't?

Between editing Episode III and making twice-weekly trips to England to urinate on Sebastian Shaw's grave, he just didn't have the time [face_thinking]

Probably because most people don't notice it, I didn't for decades. It also depends on how much TV overscan you have.

Every movie has little things like this that the director and producers either miss or choose to let go. I have never noticed this small flub in the hundreds of times I have watched the film. That he didn't replace it adds to the problem with the special editions. If he has noticed it and didn't change it for his special editions, then he is not fixing problems with the movie itself. He is fixing the problems he has created with the PT.

The SE wampa costume looks very poor in that shot.

I mean, you can see inside the suit when the arm comes off.
I think it works much better to just have Luke swing at it and run off.

And what is with the addition of a lightsaber deativation sound when the saber is clearly still on? Anyone know anything about THAT change?

The lightsaber sound wasn't a change. It was always there.

    Yes it was a change.

I have my "laserdiscs" right here in my DVD-rom and there is no deactivating lightsaber sound effect as he leaves the cave. The effect was added for the '97 rerelease.
