DFW, TX Want to get in free to the Sci-fi show this weekend?

We need volunteers for the show this weekend.

Here's how this works:

2 tables needing people:

- dealer room table (sit and occupy space and chat with other SW geeks)
- 'badge selling' table in the lobby (you will be helping to sell the VIP badges - this is for DFW veteran members or members we have already met for security reasons)

What you will be doing:

- work (meaning sit and talk to people) 2 hrs a day for your shift

- get in FREE to the show

- sit at either the DFW table inside the dealer room or at the table in the lobby

- having fun talking about Star Wars

- changing out vcr tapes

Friday 11th 3:00-6:00
Saturday 12th 10:00-6:00
Sunday 13th 10:00-4:00

**Just post here: When you are available and what days and I will be making and posting the final schedule on Thursday.

**IMPORTANT** .... Please do not volunteer if you cannot make it or just might be thinking of attending. Only post if you can attend and are willing to help.

Excuse me m'lady...er...Jeff, but I'm in charge of security.

 

You know you'll be in charge of the badge table and Sacul figures as usual.

I know I've only been to one meeting (Gameworks in July), I would be willing to help out at one of the tables.

I can do any time either Saturday or Sunday (as I have the weekend off!).

And since I've been so detached lately (damn work), where is this convention at?

You guys really don't know me. I am a long time friend of Stone, Brandon Walker and Buddy Love. I would love to help out and am available Sunday afternoon 1:30pm on.

That was a joke. The whole point of that post was to request that he bring his big TV.

 

I could help out Friday if you guys still need the help. That's the only day I got off work though.

 

Why don't we force...uh...request that Spartacus donate that big screen HD job he constantly flaunts in our faces? Come on Sparky we do so much and ask so little of our membership. Heck, we can get Branson to donate his region free DVD player and watch Region 2 porn with Ms. Lords.

 

Where is the convention? Like address if you will please, what are the times and how much is it to get in? Lots of questions for you all from the newbie.

I just double checked to make sure I had Friday completly free and I can help out anywhere from about 2 in the afternoon to midnight. Just tell me when you need me and I'll be there.

 

I will not be able to come until Sat. around 1:00 to 6:00. This is my daughters birthday party weekend. Also I have not recieved anything to copy at work.(Mike) Will bring more cards. I will not be at work Friday.

 

We've got Friday pretty well covered. We need more people for Sat and Sun.

 

be fore warned, that volunteering does not guarantee any access to the celebs/autographs.

we have little control over that aspect of the show.

just fyi.

however, if a DFWFF member deal is worked out with a celeb for a "private session*", then you will be included. [which has been known to happen, usually very short notice]

*predictable private session jokes to follow...

 

I told N_C that I'd help out at a Fan Force on Saturday and maybe Sunday.

looking back up at some of the previous posts, is it just me or do a lot of people seem to be having birthdays or birthday parties round this time....i mean sat. i've got 3 friends with b-day parties....and thanks to work i probably won't even make the con sat or sun which is a real PITA, but i hopefully will have a chance to check it out on friday after i get out of classes and stuff....tee hee hee...i'll get to drive the hobbit mobile to convention for the first time....up until now i've always had to have a ride to get there.
