    Well, whaddaya think?

Was Jango Fett a better "heavy" than Tor Johnson?

    [image=http://www.starwars.com/databank/character/darthsidious/img/eu_sm.jpg] [image=http://www.eccentric-cinema.com/images/movie_pix_j-p/plan9-04.jpg]
Was Darth Sidious more menacing than Vampira?

Was Yoda's "The shroud of the dark side has fallen" a better line than Criswell's "future events such as these will affect you in the future?"

What about the Republic Gunships as compared to Plan 9's pie tins held up by strings? Were the CGI effects of AOTC better than replacing Plan 9's Bela Lugosi with a guy a foot taller than the aging character actor who held a cloak over his face so you couldn't tell (?!) it wasn't Lugosi?

I've seen 'Clones' compared with LOTR, Minority Report, even Scooby Doo. How do you think it stacks up against Ed Wood's 1959 "movie" Plan 9 From Outer Space?

Okay, this was pretty funny, but since some of you don't get it, and seem to want to turn this into a basher/gusher zone, it's closed.

I think Lucas should have attached some strings to some of the CGI-craft as a symbolic reminder (touch o the hat) to plan 9. ;)

And while he's at it he should have added giant CGI flames to damaged spacecraft making a supposed mile long ship appear more like it's about 6 or 7 inches.

Although padme falling out of the clone's ship was very similar to that part where the body gets thrown over that fence from the stretcher and then the person like wakes up oooohhh what a headache.

Plan 9 is non-stop unintentional laughter. AOTC is only sporatically unintentially funny.

I can only imagine what kind of flick Ed Wood would've made with a 115 million dollar budget??? I bet the one-dimesional characters would've been much more engaging and the dialouge would've rocked!

Although, I believe Wood would've thought "I hate sand..." was a brillant bit of writing! ;)

I never thought back in '98, just before TPM came out that we would be one day comparing Star Wars to Plan 9, but here we are.

Greetings, my friends. We are all interested in the future, for that is where you and I are going to spend the rest of our lives. And remember, my friends, future events such as these will affect you in the future.

Saucers? You mean the kind from up there?

    Visits? That would indicate visitors!

I killed them. I killed them all. They're dead, every single one of them. And not just the men, but the women and the children, too! They're like animals, and I slaughtered them like animals! I HATE THEM!

Inspector Clay is dead! Murdered! And someone's responsible!

I don't like hearing noises, especially when there ain't supposed to be any.

I don't like sand. It's rough and scratchy. But you're not, you're soft and smooth. Not like sand.

Not that money means anything (except an indication of how many people wanted to see the damn thing)

but could we compare the grosses of AOTC to Plan 9?

According to Box Office Mojo, CLONES has now grossed 545.5 million dollars world-wide.

How did Plan 9 do at the box office?

LOL at Dr. E! I'd forgotten some of those lines.

Was Anakin's "I wish I could just wish my feelings away" an homage to Wood's "Visits? That would indicate visitors."

A George Lucas film being compared to an Ed Wood film...pretty sad

But even Ed Wood wouldn't have created that Gungan dude. ;)

yeah it is scary that they are comparable, and that the dialogue is pretty damn close in terms of redundance, grammar and quality.
