Was the alien at the end of Signs CG or real?

This goes here because ILM did the effects for this picture.

Did ILM do a CG alien for the end of Signs?

I think it was real but the color change effects were CG. The alien's "plaid" hand, the gas, and the water burns were all CG...I think.

Yes the alien was CG. Rob Coleman supervised the animation, a bit less than 20 shots. In total there were a bit less than 40 shots that ILM provided for Signs.

As far as we know so far, there is no such thing as a "real" alien.

Are we talking about the alien who was holding the boy? That was CG? No way, I want proof!

I'm pretty sure it was CG. Either way it looked great, and Signs was an awesome movie.

Well at least Rob Coleman implied that the alien was CG in all shots at SIGGRAPH. I could ask around but I don't know if I could get a reply. besides if I remember right there was no listing in the credits for any sort makeup FX or something like that.

looked really real, didn't it? I don't know which ones are CG and which ones are "humanoid", so they're intermixed. That is a boon to ILM, seamless editting of CG/human.

It's CG. I'm positive. I was watching the making of on E! and it showed how they had the alien drop the kid (Rory Culkin) using a piece of plywood.

The first time I saw it I knew it was CG.

The way the alien swayed back and forth wasnt fluent enough to merit human animation. This is what made the alien cool though. He didnt move like a human.

I know, I looked through Google, Yahoo and Kazaa. You'd think SOMEONE would have it somewhere.

maybe all the search engines we've both looked though (google, excite, askjeeves, aol, ect) will have a pic once it comes out to own. Heh. I looked for Aliens on Signs on one search engine and it gave me Yoda

I wonder why tho...I mean, Episode 2 has zillions of pics online, and it's not out to own yet. Weird... it's like they don't want me to see the alien without seeing the movie.

Give it a month or so. It's too early I guess.
