Each title refers to something that happened in the story.
    A New Hope is Luke.
Revenge of the Sith is the Sith taking over the galaxy etc.
Was The Force Awakens answered in a satisfactorily way for you?
It was well enough imo but could have been better imo.
Question on my end. When was Snoke telling Kylo Ren that he was about to face his biggest test in relation to Rey getting the vision from the lightsaber?
    Before or after?
Or was that referring to Han?
Need to see the movie again to remember the flow of those scenes.
    What about you?

Kylo Ren's biggest test was confronting his father Han, and by extension his lingering old self. He certainly passed that test. The Force Awakens is a mystery to me. Maybe they'll get into it in the coming films.

The Force Awakens... in Rey! A scavenger with no knowledge of the Force suddenly realizes her power and ability to command it.

It was answered for me in a few ways:

It awakened in Rey in a mysterious way. She intuitively realized that she had it and started using it very well.

It awakened in Finn. He realized he was doing the wrong thing.

It awakened in Luke. He's going to train Rey now.

I need to see the movie again to be sure, but I think the title is referring to Rey. Snoke mentions "an awakening" to Kylo after Rey first encounters the Force through the lightsaber. She has to be extremely strong with the Force to have resisted Kylo Ren's mind control and then owned him in a duel with zero training. Not sure what this means going forward, but it should be interesting.

It's pretty clear that The Force Awakens is referring to Rey and her "blossoming" in the film. It's a parallel to how A New Hope is referring to Luke.

The Force Awakens happened when Kylo was interrogating Rey for the map and she was resisting.

Either that if when R2D2 awoke? Lol

    Yes.

Ren's force powers were awakened. And with her reaching Luke in the end, the implications are that the training for Jedi will likely resume.

Probably will need to see it again to see what I think of it.
So Snoke told Ren that after the vision?
Wish we could have seen Ren, Snoke and Luke reacting to it.
That vision (to me) for some reason opened Rey to the Force, Luke contacted R2 through the Force or something else woke R2 up.

I see it in two ways

"There has been an awakening. Have you felt it? In both the dark side.... and the light."

-Rey discovers her Force-sensitivity and chooses to pursue Luke (probably for training)

-Kylo Ren murders his father (the point where Luke failed to fall completely to the dark side) and Snoke feels he's now ready to complete his training

    Good thread idea, btw!

I always liked the idea that The "Phantom Menace" actual refers to Anakin. The New Hope is of course Luke and if Rey turns out to be a Skywalker then there is a running theme of the first movies of each trilogy referencing a Skywalker.
