You know that Kansas City, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri are part of the same metro area, right?

I do, yes, but when it comes to sports, when I hear the name 'Kansas City', I always think of Missouri exclusively.

 

They played at Arrowhead from 1996-2007, but eventually built their own stadium in Kansas. From what I can tell, it looks like they had a plan to play in Missouri, but that went by the wayside in the financial crisis.

 

I don't really see the difference, if it's the same metro area, who cares?

 

Clint Dempsey is dead to me now.

Very good piece. Part of why I no loner love going to the ballpark as much as I used to is it no longer feels like I'm there to watch a baseball game.

I couldn't disagree more. Yes, there are distractions & such via the jumbotron, but being there with your fellow fans, and the love of the sport conquers all. Just because watching a football (soccer) game in person is a different kind of experience doesn't make it better.

Great win by the USMNT today!

 

Huh, the US has the longest current international win streak at 12 (I knew we had 12 but I didn't realize it was the best right now) which is 3 short of Spain's 15 (ended, incidentally, by the US).

 

A S Roma have reportedly rejected a bid from Sunderland fir Michael Bradley. Methinks then having Bradley and Altidore would have also at least temporarily given them the European portion of my heart.

It also makes me think they might make a serious bid for Donovan
