United States just beat one of the best teams on the planet - leaders in South American WC qualifying. That's just huge.

As for the semi - Bedoya and Jones needed the rest, I think. Hopefully we see a combination of Beckerman/Zusi/Nagbe in for them. Not too much of a drop off.

Losing Bobby Wood is a huge problem, though. He's been as important as anyone not named Dempsey for this team in this tournament.

Yedlin back will help push forward a bit, but if someone like Wondo is the choice to plug in for Wood, JK's tactics will have to shift. Sporting new tactics while trying to contain the attacking power of Messi, Aguero, Lavezzi, Lamela, and Di Maria is going to be the tallest of tasks.

It really sucks to be losing, but it is such a privilege to watch this kind of class from Messi. Good grief, he is all kinds of amazing.
