Toronto We go for Saturday's Dinner at/after SFX at...

Okay, we've a few options as to when to gather and head off to The Spaghetti Factory for dinner. Keep in mind even with sending a runner over early we'll probably still have to wait as much as an hour to get seated.

We can go at 6pm, and miss the masquerade.

We can wait until after the masquerade, but that's a bit late.

We can also go before the con stuff ends on Saturday. Meaning some people might still be able to catch the masquerade. I was unable to find out any info on what's going on in the last hours of the day however.

The poll will run for a week. After it's done I'll post The Plan(tm).

 

I don't care, I'm only coming for the dinner.

Have we set the S. Factory as the place we are having dinner? Or are we to make suggestions for places that take "large" reservation?

I'm cool either way, just trying to make it a faster timeline than waiting for our table.

 

I'm thinking Spaghetti Factory, it's huge enough to accomodate a group our size, even if we do have to wait. Not too far, and has become somewhat of a tradition.

It should also be noted that many places in the downtown core (Spaghetti Factory included) simply don't take reservations on a weekend.

Our most successful technique has been to send an advance party down to give the restaurant notice of our impending arrival. This cuts a many hour wait down to under an hour.

 

Yes, the advance scouting team worked well last time i made it to the spagetti social...ive never seen the OSF that busy!

Apparently some members of the 501st will be required to do something for the masquerade, and I fear I may miss the dinner for the 3rd year in a row. I voted for after the masquerade in case that happens, but I may not have to do the masquerade thing.

 

I voted for any time.

 

Well, I'll be around and hoping to get to the dinner.

However, I'm involved in the Masq. this year, and would vote for either an early dinner, or a later one.

But, for those coming in from out of town, (YJN) a dinner after the masqerade might make it a late night for them. The masquerade should be ending sometime between 9:00 and 9:30, and then be all wrapped up as late as 10:00 or 10:30.

Maybe an early one would be best?

I only ask because I need to let a friend of mine know when I'm picking him up after the dinner/event.

 

Oh yeah, about the ride issue. I have no problem coming, but it's going back. Just wondering if there is anyone who's going to be heading to the Mississauga or near Brampton area after the dinner/social?

 

I wanted to watch the masquerade. Mabye I won't end up coming to the socail.

I will be. I'll be picking up a friend of mine in Brampton after the dinner. We are headed north (Wasaga) for a family golf game.

Edit: More specific...I'm headed to the apartments across the street from Bramalea City Centre Mall.

 

YJN: Oh cool. Which buildings does he live in? My dad's in the Hanover buildings.

 

Not sure of the exact address (I have it at home, I'm at work right now), but the directions are: 410 to Clark Blvd., Clark to Lisa St., Lisa to Silver Maple Ct.

 

I'm pretty sure Joesph, Greg and myself are going. Leppy the Leprachaun, might also join us. Depends on how secure his pot of gold is.
