New Jersey We got a cat!

Today, Gary and I went to the Bergen County Animal Shelter and looked for a cat.

We sure didn't leave empty handed! Meet our new cat, Autumn (we don't know if we want to change her name or not)!

Let's just say, precautionary measure. I don't open my photo albums at all to the public. I thought this one would be sweet for everyone to see, including our family and friends.

Should we rename the cat? Ideas for names? Non Star Wars, please. I don't really want to rename it, but if we find a name that suits her, we might have to

 

How about "moose"?

I still maintain that "Thor" or "Beefsteak" are perfectly suitable names.

Seriously, I like her name the way it is.

I like her name the way it is, too. Gary thinks she doesn't know her name. I think it's because she spent 2 months in a kennel and doesn't hear her name everyday.

 

She is a very cute cat!!

 

Thanks Evie! She's getting better with walking around the house a little more. She seems to be a little frightened by Gary, which makes me think her previous owner was a male who abused her. Once Gary pets her and shows her affection, she calms down. We're also thinking that calling her by the name she was given might be a reminder of that person, so she might be apprehensive because of that.

 

What about the names Amy or Anne or something like that?

 

I was thinking Audrey, but that's going to be my first born daughter's name. A few names I thought of:

Amber
Sabrina
Tabitha

Those are just a few.

 

Audrey and Amber are nice names.

So, today marks a week that we've had Autumn. So far, she won't come into the living room/dining room, but she'll go into every other room in the house. I think the hardwood floors scare her a bit. She likes to play with her blue mouse but when we're sleeping, so we hear her running down the hallway at 3am. LMAO.

She's been a great cat, I just hope she'll eventually come into the living room!

 

Untiil she starts climbing on the TV and up the curtains =P

 

She's been meowing at all ends of the night. She also pooped right near her litter box, which is partly my fault because I didn't change her litter. And, she got sick this morning in the living room...where she never goes! LMAO.

 

Did ya name her yet?
