All of us here are Star Wars fans. I'm not sure whether anyone here is this dedicated though:

One of my parishioners announced during prayer requests today that they had a new grandchild.

After giving the birth date, weight, height, etc. they told us the baby's name. "Anakin. Which has something to do with Star Wars."

Yes. They named the child "Anakin". I know the mother and she's not a geek in any way, shape or form. That means the father is a strong enough SW geek that he convinced his wife to name their child after the one who will bring balance to the Force.

Anybody here dedicated enough to the Cause to name a child after their favorite character? Stacky, are we eventually going to see little Wes Janson Wolber running around? Han Wheatley?

Hmmm.....I just realized I forgot to ask the middle name.

 

Twins run in my family and Matt has already vetoed Jacen and Jaina.

As for Wes Janson Wolber, maybe for a cat.

 

I thought you wanted Mirta or Kad'ika for a kitty

Yeah, there won't ever be any little Wheatleys running around, SW name or not. You "breeders," as Cindy and I like to call you, just don't understand that we definitely won't have any children.

 

Wow... I just don't get it. I've got three kids. I never would have thought about naming any of my kids after SF characters, unless maybe they really generic names. Maybe a middle name from a SF character if the name didn't sound too SF.

All my kids share names with monarchs. Elizabeth, Alexander, Catherine.
And their middle names are all family names. A grandmother, my middle name, and an aunt.

 

Lesley and I already have the name "Luke" picked out. 1st and foremost for the Star Wars character but it will complete my grandmothers intention to have her sons named after the Apostles. Matthew - my brother, Mark - uncle, Luke - my hopefully future son, and John - my father.

In a weird way this is kinda cool, just think, if I wasn't born a bastard I would have been named Luke. Mom really frak'd that up.

If the Kesh ever reproduces ( collective gasp of dread ) he shall name the resulting offspring in this manner-

(list includes the first and middle name)

Steven Adama

Of course these names would have to meet the approval of the Master - a.k.a. the female parental unit - a.k.a. the mother. BUT I'm sure my irrestible charm and reasoning ( use of Sith mind tricks ) would win her over.

 

Minus the Skywalker middle names and Caprica Six (maybe Caprica as a middle name), those are actually some decent names there Kesh...

Well, I suppose you guys didn't realize that we've already contributed (somewhat) to the geek name pool.. My daughter's name is Sarah Michelle.

 

I wanted Luke if we ever spawned again, but my sister-in-law took it a few months ago. Now I don't want any more kids. I blame this incident...

For me, it's a toss up:

Boy: Dengar or Wallruss Man

Girl: IG-88 or Waru

 

What about Woodrow Hood? Or Lott Dodd?

I have friends there in E'Ville that named their little girl Eowyn, after the Horse Kingdom Princess from LotR. There's one kid that is going to fail Kindergarten.

 

Oh, what's wrong with Eowyn?

She was way hotter than the elf
