Put it this way, the last time they made a self-aware computer a villain in a Superman movie it didn't work out so well.

 

It's not Brainiac, and the villain is not the major reason of Superman III's failure, Richard Pryor is the major reason.

Because the Salkinds wanted to use him but WB said no because they thought the comic villains are childish.

 

I was positive I saw the three lights symbol in one of the film frames. I'm sure it was actually Brainiac.

You introduce the Maestro who is the Hulk's evil self from the future and who wants to start the events that will trigger his ascension.

 

One of the many things that bothered me about Green Lantern is that Peter Sarsgard's character goes from an evil psychic to some unintentionally hilarious looking morbidly obese and leprous being, with no explanation of why it happened?

The funniest thing about making Hector Hammond one of the bad guys in Green Lantern was that if he wasn't rehabilitated during Geoff Johns' run on the book, I don't think he would ever be considered for the movie (I remember at one point in the '90s Wizard magazine made him a Mort of the Month, their monthly showcase of lame, silly, or stupid comic characters from the Big Two. Of course, their jokes consisted of "He has a huge head LOL").

 

Is it not possible to just be a fan of the movies? Ignorance is bliss.

You're one of those types whose enjoyment of Iron Man 3 would be better without all the "But the Mandarin is supposed to be this Fu-Manchu-like guy with alien power rings!" from butthurt comics fans, aren't you? In that case, I understand.

 

I suppose I should do a little more research on comic book characters now and then.

 

I liked Iron Man 3 and I knew the Mandarin backstory...

 

I was still pretty irritated about the twist in Iron Man 3, and I haven't read any IM comics.

 

I didn't like Iron Man 3 but it had little or nothing to do with that little twist.
