I'm so sorry. My wife miscarried too, and I can still remember the sense of grief and loss clearly, even though it's been fourteen years.

Everyone else: Thanks for your kind words (I missed the whole trolling bit). I never really realized how I felt until just now, after reading Jabba's post. Loss is definitely how I feel. It's like all those hopes and ideas you were having about this little life are suddenly all snatched away, leaving a miserable hole in its place.

But there's also a note of frustration. Frustration with all the medical bills that are involved despite having insurance. Everyone is calling us demanding payment up front for the upcoming DNC (procedure to remove the fetus). Everyone wants several hundred dollars. No kind words of condolences, no expressions of sympathy. Just a recurring pattern of "Pay us now, pay us now, pay us now, pay us now."

 

God, I'm so sorry Valyn. And doubly so that the [insert many expletives] at the hospital are just making it worse.

 

I'm so sorry for your loss. My mother lost a baby between me and my younger sister.
