So what happened to this project? Did it ever get off the ground?

 

It did. The first half of the book was eloquent and well honed (well, mostly). The second half was a bloated mess.

 

Looking at the expression on all of those people is amusing.

Seems Lucas's wedding plans haven't gotten off the ground either. We probably still have time. The internet at my current establishment runs like a sloshed version of late 90s AOL, but if he can put the wedding off for a few months I'll see if I can whip up something when I reacquire functional wireless. This is the kind of job that calls for lots of Star Warzy pics so then Disney can turn around and sue us for copyright infringement.

While keeping cannisters of anti-cynicism-bat-spray and a few packets of fanboy-sincerity-powder handy in our utility belts (along with the required troll-repellant-polarity masks), is anything happening with this?

I'd like to be able to contribute something to making it happen, even if it's just a stickied thread.

Not a bad idea, but I don't think Lucas comes here too often (although I highly doubt he's NEVER heard of us -- we are -- or at least *were* -- the biggest SW forum at one point).

I've looked into several sites about the virtual wedding guestbook idea. It seems doable, but the major problem is that we need a website to host it from. There are different versions, and they vary in appearance from fancy digital "e-book" formats to something vaguely resembling a string of chatroom messages. Most free sites advertise something akin to the latter. But in any case we need some sort of site to begin with to host it from... and I don't know how keen TFN would be on that. I was hoping to find something more along the lines of an e-card that would allow for more than a couple of sigs. Haven't seen that yet.

@anakinfansince1983's idea would be great on these new forums since they allow us to post gifs and memes, but only if we could get Lucas's attention. I imagine it would be easier to ask Abrams for a gig in the next movie.

However. I am under the impression the folks who manage the main TFN "news" part of the site have a relationship of sorts with Lucasfilm. Obviously not directly with the Man in Plaid himself. But does anyone know (particularly anyone who managed the TFN parties at the Celebration conventions) if the TFN main site could get someone at Lucasfilm's attention? Be it for a thread we make, or a digitial e-card/guestbook (if we manage to host it from something -- even TFN itself?)
