Weekly news from Mod Squad, week ending 7 April 2002

We didn't have an update last week, but we hope you enjoyed all the mahem and madness we perpetrated on April Fool's day. This update is rather bland, but that just goes to show you that being a mod isn't all that exciting anyway...

• A thread on whether or not a particular signature is tasteless. Result: User asked to change it.



• A thread on a troll who sent Celebration 2-related threats to one of our moderators.



• A thread asking us mods to delete all links to the AOTC script that we may see on the forums.



• A thread asking an Administrator log in as a user in a case of reported PM abuse.



• A couple of threads on returning trolls and how to spot them.



• The thread where FF City Reps are announced so the staff listing can be updated accordingly. Please note that it's the only staff list that is updated with each and every addition to the team.



• A thread on a serial troll who has used multiple usernames to spam the AOTC forum with links to the soundtrack.



• A thread asking an Administrator to update the drop-down forum menu.



• A thread for us to plan for the inevitable "newbie rush" when AOTC is released.



• A couple of threads on the new literature mods and discussion of the new spoiler guidelines.



• Discussion of how to deal with a few of our more persistant serial trolls.



• Criticisms for the new board theme. Result: We hope to be changing the colors soon.



• A thread on the "ins and outs" of banning for our newbie mods.



• A couple of threads on problem users. Result: They are being let back on "probation".



• A thread with security guidelines for the newbie mods.



• A thread asking about usernames that are in the Chick Click party thread but don't have profiles on the JC. Result: We concluded that it's an interesting left-over from the time the JC and Chick Click crossed over.



• A thread asking for mods to be a bit quicker in responding to unban request, if possible.

Criticisms for the new board theme. Result: We hope to be changing the colors soon.

Please. I do most of my board time at work and the new colors scream "This guy's not working!!!"

 

The red is ok with me. I just find it funny that the main blue part stayed, because in the past when the main decor changes, so has that. It's been light blue, light green, beige, pink, etc...

I like the colors. Maybe not so much the brown but the rest is fine.

I think the colours are all right. Maybe a little bit darker in contrast to the purple scheme, but I think that you wil get used to it after some time.

(I think I like farr's rough draft better )

There hasn't been one in three weeks.

 

I was wondering what had become of them as well. ?

 

All we do in the modsquad is hang around eating chips and comparing the size of our mangos.
