I just noticed that two of the USS Inferno Sci Fi Club members have already posted. Kuruk is our Personnel Officer and helmsman. Ron is our Chief Engineer and Bursar.

I forgot to mention the details like Kuruk did. I am married to the CO of the USS Inferno (Debbie "Ksimka" French). I am 46 years old. I have two jobs, one in computer operations/pc support and the other as a mental health call specialist supervisor. I am a Disabled American Veteran of the United States Air Force (9 years). My wife and I live in Beechview in the South Hills of Pittsburgh.

I like most of the sci fi genre to include Star Trek, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica (old and new), Buck Rogers, and a few others.

At conventions and shows, I usually dress in Klingon gear until the heat starts to bother me. I have worn Starfleet costumes, military costumes, Civil War costumes, Scot/Irish kilts, and during the last Star Wars movie, I worn a ST:First Contact uniform with my Klingon Command Cloak with the hood covering my head like Darth Vader/Anakin did in the movie.

    Qapla'!

Hello there from NE Patriots territory....

    GO STEELERS!

I've been razzing the guys on my home FF boards but, I thought I would post here where people probably understand my passion for the Steelers a bit better.

I am really looking forward to the Steelers handing the Pats their only loss of the season on Sunday and will actually be in Foxborough to see it!

    HI!

I have been living close to Pittsburgh for some time and absolutely love everything about Star Wars! I am 27 years old and about to finish my second degree this May. I love every movie in the saga and have a special love for Anakin Skywalker. Although I love several of the other characters as well! Han Solo, Padme, Leia, Obi-Wan among others. I used to work in a movie theater and actually got to build Revenge of the Sith for our projectors! That was a highlight for sure! Have a couple of pieces from the movie as well from the build. Anyway, I would love to talk about anything Star Wars and look forward to making some friends!

Lots of events and get togethers in the near future. The boards have been a little slow lately and it's nice to see someone new. Don't be a stranger. We are a friendly bunch. :)

Hi, I just joined the boards. I met some of you guys at the Pittsburgh Comicon, and helped with a panel on weddings. I talked to a bunch of you guys at the costume panels. There is actually one specific person I'm looking for. I don't know her name, but she cosplays as Galadriel as well as an Elvan-looking Jedi who carries a lightsaber with a crystal on the hilt. At the last Pgh Comicon, she was dressed as Bellatrix Lestrange. I was telling her that there is a Jedi in the comics who looks very much like her original Jedi character that I thought she'd get a kick out of. I didn't know the name at the time, but I looked through my comics and scanned some pics of her. The character's name is Master Fay, and I have pics on my Photobucket account. I don't think I can link to them because my album is private, but if it's ok, I'll post them in one of the costuming threads. To Ms Elvan Jedi herself, feel free to pm or email me as well.

Welcome to the Pittsburgh Boards, del! (and thanks for the help on the wedding panel. Interested in doing any more panels for the 2009 Comicon?)

The person you are looking for is BonMothma, who is a definetly a Master Costumer. Hopefully, she gets done with her Dark Galdriel for DragonCon (as I am much curious to see that project finally done).

I think you could put a pic directly on a post, using the 'image' button, even if its on a private album.

Thanks for help finding her name, Greencat. I sent her a private message. If she's unable to view the pics, I'll just post them in the costuming thread. And sure, I'd be happy to help with a panel at the next con. I've been looking up some help in redoing my old Shaak Ti costume, so I might even spend Saturday dressed as her. It's kind of a shame that they do their contest on Sunday. I entered it a few years ago and will never do that again. It's held after checkout time and no amount of cold cream was enough to get all that red makeup off my face while standing in the hotel lobby bathroom!

    Hey all!

I'm new here - sort of. I couldn't decide if I was closer to Pittsburgh or Columbus but after some investigation Pitt won. So here I am! A little about me - I like SW - particularly costuming and RPG stuff. I love making props and painting minis. I also involve myself in a bit of art work which can be seen at www.comicspace.com/Ancient? I'm a member of The Dented Helmet - the Boba Fett costume and prop building forum and am currently working on an Annimated Fett costume.

    Thats me!

    Cheers

    Hello!

My husband and I just recently moved to the Pittsburgh area from Phoenix. We were active members of our Fan Force there, as well as involved with the Rebel Legion there. My husband and friends made the Spirits of the Force trilogy (if you haven't seen them, check them out at www.spiritsoftheforce.com). Along with Star Wars, we do costumes for Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, along with some other characters. We would love to meet people here, so thought the fan force was a perfect place to start! Hope to meet you all soon!

    Welcome to Pittsburgh!

If you can make it to the picnic next week, that would be a great place to meet us! Check out the picnic thread!

I will have to check out the website. Awesome that you all are so enthusiastic and involved in SW and other fandoms! Are you going to Dragon Con by chance?

Did Phoenix have a pretty active Fanforce?

HI, im Pirate Princess' husband... @};-

Yea we had a decent size fan force for a long while during the new trilogy releases... we organized toy drives and did a 2 week wait outside a theatre for Episode 2 and a 5 day wait outside for Epi 3 (wich in the AZ heat, trust me is hardcore lol)

I was even treasurer for a while...but we lost some members to in fighting and what not (WoW stuff mainly)

But Phx. still has a good size fan force. A good portion of the older members are seen in the Spirits of the force trilogy.

    We will try and come to the picnic next week if we can...if you dont mind having a disney tattooed desert rat and a law school disney nerd tagging along 8-}

    Hey there!

I downloaded Spirits of the Force the other night. Filming locations were perfect, and the effects were excellent. How awesome that you had that many people willing and able to put that together!

Hope to see you at the picnic! Tagalongs of any kind are always welcome. :)

    Thanks,

Yea the first and second films are fun...but trust me when I say you aint seen nothing yet till Reflections of Evil comes out...

(dont ask me when, our editor has become a widely sought after film maker in AZ, and keeps getting paid jobs, so our "fun" project keeps getting set on the back burner)

Hi! I have been living bout 30 miles give or take a couple from pittsburgh just about all my life. I love everything and anything there is about Star Wars. It started from a young age playing with my brother who had alot of the toys. I have just grown from that point to almost obsession ( from what alot of my friends have told me). I like alot of the characters, Han Solo is always a favorite but I enjoy Anakin from the prequels as well. I also can easily say I look up to Princess Leia and Padme. Does that make me a dork? Yea it does but so what! I have gotten my friends to watch the movies with me ( I watch them almost everyday) but I can't really talk to them about it. My best friend has grown to really like them but it's still not the same. I was hoping to make some new friends who have the same obsession I have on here. I would love to email with anyone who wants to talk about anything star wars or talk through the message boards. I hope to talk to many of you soon! :)

Hi there! I'm pretty sure you'll find a few people on these message boards who love Star Wars too!:p

We have randomly made threads to contemplate characters and issues from the movies, books, and comics. Do you read SW stuff too? There's a really good literature forum on tfn, and a few times we've had book/comic discussions here.

In RL we get together and watch SW and other movies, have outings, and plan events.

We will be at the Steel City Con next weekend if you can manage to make it there and come see us. They always have really awesome toys. Plus, Ray Park and Daniel Logan will be there!

Don't be shy- make a thread on whatever you want to talk about!

    :)

I did see about the Steel City Con. I plan to make it one of the days! I can't wait to see what all is there, I have never been to this con before. I made it to Celebration III in Indianapolis which was mind plowing. I hope I can find a couple good deals at this con though! Plus Ray Park is awsome! I'm kinda shy so I don't know if I'll have the courage to come and talk to all you guys. Thats probably my biggest problem.

I have read a couple of the books. Not sure where to start though. There are so many and I always feel out of the loop on some of the story lines. Any thoughts on where to start reading?
