I am here to see your FanForce and to welcome you on becoming official.

My grandfather on my mother's side is Polish, yet I have not spoken Polish for quite a time due to the passing of my grand babcia. Here I would like to re-learn the language in time.

I am a quarter Polish and like to keep up with the European FanForces, so when Poland became official, I decided to stop in.

I'm re-teaching myself Polish and just wondered if anyone could help me over the boards.

Czytam ksiazki o Gwiezdnych Wojnach.

 

Dawidos are right. But Polish is a very difficult language. And we can't write polish letters here, this is a problem.
AJM, I think that you already know what it means Gwiezdne Wojny.

BTW, do you learn another language?

 

Exactly. For other nationals (mainly Engilsh) Polish is a very difficult language. They have problem with plural and singular form and change of verb by persons. But " It belongs for courageous world " (for Polish - do odwaznych swiat nalezy). Allasea why do you say that we can't write polish letters here ? There is our official board.

 

Dawidos, I think you should write here let me think: ¹, ê, ?, æ, ?, ¿, ñ, ³. Only ó is possible.

Why we don't have polish signs? Chimpo asked about it. They don't have our font code, or something like that.

That's because Western code page is different from ours. Check the "character map"/"Tablica znaków" in your Windows - the fonts that have their Central European version have Polish letters where other have those fancy symbols. Internet uses Western encoding, unless specified otherwise.


As for the help: you can count on us, Admiral.
In the meanwhile you can check the (unofficial&incomplete) list of Polish SW websites buried deep in this section (i.e.osted ages ago). Reading is easier than writing and it will help you to regain the lost knowledge.

 

We can't have polish font because they don't have board code ( atleast that's what they said )

There is no polish diacritic signs, because they don't have acces to Forum's code.
Rumcajs that's a good idea, but what about spelling our a| or sz or cz?

Hmm... mialem na mysli tylko ten topic - w celach edukkacyjnych.
Poniewaz nie ma polskich znakow, to trzeba zrobic dla nich jakas alternatywna reprezentacje. Jak ktos nieznajacy (uczacy sie) polskiego bedzie chcial cos ze slownikiem przetlumaczyc, to latwiej by mu bylo gdyby wiedzial gdzie ma byc zwykla litera z alfabetu lacinskiego, a gdzie nasze kochane ogonki.

 

Co racja to racja... tak wiec w tym topicu, w celach edukacyjnych, mozemy robic cyrk tylko nich ktos pokaze nawe w obrazku jak wygladaja polkie fonty i alternatywy w tym temacie
