Det, MI Welcome the New Jedi:)

Please share our joy in the birth of our son, Scott James!
He was born on September 3rd by emergency c-section. Mom was very ill with severe pre-eclampsia, so Scott joined us a bit early at 32 weeks.
Scott came out with an angry cry--Mom and Dad were sooooo happy to hear that cry! He weighed 2 lbs, 13.4 oz. and was 15 and 3/4 inches long.
Scott is doing wonderfully. He is still in the NICU. He was off of all breathing support almost right away. He has no IV now. He is maintaining his own body temperature and is up to 3 lbs. 7 oz. He is still being fed through a tube until he's big enough to be able to coordinate sucking, swallowing and breathing. We have started bottle feeding him now twice per day. Once he can feed totally by bottle, they'll probably send him home with us
He's got a very sweet little personality and looks all over, makes eye contact and follows sounds when he isn't sleeping We're hoping he'll be home with us soon.
I am recovering at home after a week in the hospital. I am still on some medication to regulate my blood pressure.

sooooo happy things are turning out well for the 3 of you!!!!!!!!!.......if the baby doesn't sleep well when you get him home, try a cd...he might be used to all the noise in the premie unit.

Congrdulations you two...or should I say, three? I'm glad to hear everything's gone well, and everyone's ok. Can't wait to meet the little guy!
