OOC: sorry about how long it has taken for me to post, I live in Australia so my time of being awake is off compared to you guys.

IC: The Doctor

After listening to the warden explaining everything The doctor looked around, he looked down at himself and realised he was not changing so he must not have truly died but he also noticed that he didn't have his sonic screwdriver, or any of his other incredibly important and useful possessions on him. He heard small pockets of conversation starting and the one that struck him as the most interesting was the greek he could hear from one section, thankfully his connection with the TARDIS was intact and translating his speech and that around him so that whomever spoke to him and listened to him would hear him talking perfectly in their native tongue.

He stepped over to the young woman ?what is someone as old as yourself doing among these people I wonder?? the doctor was still looking around and processing everything, the last thing he remembered was Amy Pond and his TARDIS heading through time to explore the oldest place in the universe then as they were arriving he saw black for a moment and then this warden fellow on, he suspected either intercom or psychic link with everyone here. Continuing without waiting for a real response from the girl as of yet ?Looking around I can see only humans mainly from the same period of earth historical time so one has to ask themselves why us? Hmmm why were we chosen to be well, I guess the best word would be taken, and? he paused for a moment and turned to look at the girl for the first time ?What is so special about us? Hi I'm the doctor and you are?? he extended his hand as what he was lead to believe would be a handshake invitation, humans liked handshakes it made them feel like the person shaking their hand could be trusted.

IC: Indiana Jones
Cafeteria, Prison

"I was afraid of that," Indy voiced quietly in response to Corinna's assessment of the situation. He reached up to scratch at his jaw in thought. A pattern was starting to form across everyone he had encountered so far - neither of them could remember how they had arrived here, let alone, why they were here. In fact, he wondered if the similarities extended beyond that. Were the others experiencing just as much difficulty recalling what they were doing before waking up here as he was?

"Wow, evidently everyone here speaks Latin. That's funny," Dean remarked cheekily before turning his gaze back to Indy. "Which makes me wonder what exactly you do, Mr. Jones?"

He did his best to conceal a grin, breathing out slowly to keep his composure. "I'm a tenured professor of archaeology. Boring stuff compared to a world traveler such as yourself," he explained with a hint of amusement in his voice, almost as if there was something more. Of course, those that were familiar with him knew all about his glob-trotting adventures and everything he had accomplished. For the moment, he chose to not reveal them. Perhaps he could have some fun with his fellow inmates.

But before the conversation could go any further, a new voice chimed in from behind. Narrowing his eyes, Indy turned to gaze upon the new arrival - a man with reddish-brown hair. Outwardly, he looked normal enough. "Excuse me, but I've been hearing a disturbing voice in my head," he announced rather abruptly. "I don't suppose any of you have been getting telepathic threats from a person calling himself the Warden . . . ?"

Indy frowned. Then again, normal had a wide range of definitions - depending on where you came from. Maybe this guy wasn't all there after all...

"No, not telepathic," he began, now glancing around at their surroundings. "He seems real enough...real enough to trap us in here anyway," He sighed, placing his hands on his hips. "This has to be some kind of mistake - none of it makes sense. No memories, no explanations...who throws you into prison and doesn't tell you why?"

His gaze caught on something across the way and he trailed off. Two men dressed in black armor were exchanging threats with not only each other, but with the other people around them. They appeared to be trapped in this place just like everyone else, but it could easily be a front. Perhaps they were actually minions working for this Warden fellow and they had been instructed to intermingle with the pool of inmates. If that were the case, they weren't doing a very good job of fitting in. Then again, that was typical of minions - they were dumb and stupid and always eager for a fight.

"See those two clowns over there?" he said quietly, gesturing just enough in their direction as not to appear conspicuous. "I don't think they're here to make friends or welcome us to the big house. Let's move out of here and keep our distance. Maybe use the opportunity to explore the grounds and if we get lucky, find some answers."

IC: Antryg Windrose

The fellow who'd been wise enough not to offer his hand to the young lady had some bad news: "No, not telepathic. He seems real enough...real enough to trap us in here anyway."

Antryg refrained from pointing out that telepathic things were perfectly real, and could be extremely unpleasant. It was unfortunate enough that the man's words seemed to confirm that the Warden's grim threats were not delusions conjured up out of Antryg's prison-addled brain.

Unless of course this entire scenario was a delusion, and he really was still chained up in the Silent Tower . . .

"This has to be some kind of mistake - none of it makes sense. No memories, no explanations...who throws you into prison and doesn't tell you why?"

"Oh, quite a lot of people," Antryg said, pushing his round spectacles more firmly up onto the bridge of his beaky nose. "Anyone who already considers you guilty, for one. Which I fear our friend the Warden does. There's also always the possibility that we were abducted as a means of gaining leverage over someone else, which . . ." his daft, gray-eyed gaze drifted over to where the two armored men were arguing, "seems somewhat more plausible for some of us than for others." Unless the taller of the two metal men really were guarding the patrician young woman, Antryg couldn't see anyone offering much of a ransom to get him back.

For that matter, the only person who might want to see Antryg back was Joanna, and skills at computer programming and producing exactly the right object at exactly the right time were something of a niche demand among mysterious kidnappers.

"See those two clowns over there? I don't think they're here to make friends or welcome us to the big house. Let's move out of here and keep our distance. Maybe use the opportunity to explore the grounds and if we get lucky, find some answers."

This brown-haired gentleman with the scar on his chin appeared to be eminently sensible--all the more so as the hostility between the helmeted men escalated. "That sounds like an excellent idea," Antryg said.

IC: Benjamin Linus

The young woman looked down at his outstretched hand then gave Ben a cool stare. Not exactly rude, but certainly aloof. It certainly confirmed his suspicion that she might somehow actually be from the classical period, but he said nothing. Instead he simply put on an air of embarrassment at the social gaffe. "Oh, sorry." He rest his hand at his side.

The girl was still regarding him curiously, almost as though she were really seeing him rather than Dean. That kind of perception was dangerous. Ben's eyes narrowed slightly. But if she suspected him of lying, she said nothing. Instead, she said , "[My name is Corinna]." It had taken her quite a while to get to saying her name. Not to mention, it didn't sound like something that had rolled off her tongue countless times in her life. Ben smiled inwardly at catching her in the lie. He actually respected her a little for it. "[I cannot tell you anything about this place--I have just arrived here and everything seems completely unfamiliar.]", she added.

Indiana listened to the girl, then turned back to Ben to answer his inquiry. There was a smile tugging at the man's lips as he said, "I'm a tenured professor of archaeology. Boring stuff compared to a world traveler such as yourself." If Ben wasn't mistaken, there was a slightly ironic tone in the man's voice. It gave Ben the impression the man might in fact be fairly well traveled himself. Ben filed it away for further exploration later.

"I wouldn't call that boring," Ben replied cheerfully. "Really my job's not as exciting as it sounds. I wind up spending most of it working in my hotel room anyway, writing my articles. But it seems we share a common interest." And, Ben hoped, he could use that common interest to build a kind of trust with the man. One sided, to be sure. No matter how much things changed, Ben still had a difficult time trusting people, particularly strangers. Ironic, considering things probably should have been the other way around.

Ben realized their conversation in English was probably confusing "Corinna". He was about to apologize in Latin, not wishing to get on the sharp young woman's bad side, when a gangly reddish-haired man interrupted.

"Excuse me, but I've been hearing a disturbing voice in my head," he announced rather abruptly. "I don't suppose any of you have been getting telepathic threats from a person calling himself the Warden . . . ?"

The man seemed a bit off, but Ben wasn't about to say it. Nor was he going to take the lead from Indiana. The archaeologist seemed comfortable in that position, and Ben was happy not to call too much attention to himself. Much better to merely suggest ideas and let other people think they were their own. And, truth be told, Ben had grown accustomed to following at this stage in his life. It didn't lessen his desire to steer the conversation, but it made him more comfortable retreating into the shadows as Indiana took the lead.

"No, not telepathic. He seems real enough...real enough to trap us in here anyway. This has to be some kind of mistake - none of it makes sense. No memories, no explanations...who throws you into prison and doesn't tell you why?"

Jones was growing more agitated by the moment. He wasn't voicing anything Ben himself, and most likely the others, had thought. Ben was simply more practiced in suppressing any worry he might feel in exchange for a cool, detached logic. Already he could see some commonalities, at least amongst the people he was speaking to. Everyone seemed truly confused as to how they'd arrived in this position, or why. The people he was currently speaking with seemed quite intelligent and educated. The girl was obviously highly cultured as well, and independent. Qualities that seemed hauntingly familiar. But he pushed that into the back corner of his mind. What was clear is that these were Ben's kind of people, if he could be said to belong among any people. Though he wasn't quite sure about this wobbly red-haired fellow.

The man in question spoke up. [

IC: Gerald Tarrant, AKA The Hunter/ Neo-Merentha/ The Forest/ Erna

Night. It was life, of a sort, for The Hunter. Every once in a while he had been forced into the light of day, mainly for that blasted Vryce, and it only reinforced the love of night that had pretty well been forced upon him. So here he stood, at home in the black monolith that was Neo-Merentha Castle in the Forest of his creation, staring up at the night sky. True Night was merely minutes away, the time of his greatest power, but for then there were stars scattered on the eastern edge of the sky. They were muted by the light of the core, not true light by the standards of the day, but bright enough that it was a slightly uncomfortable reminder. Burning was not a pleasant past time.

That was before he blinked.

After, he was suddenly surrounded by a wide variety of strangers, some in decidedly strange garb. And the Fae... My God. It's gone. His already pale face became utterly milk white. Grabbing for his sword, he realized that it was gone as well. Abject fear appeared on his face, because he knew what hells awaited him upon his death. But his sword being gone meant that he truly was powerless, and very much no longer among the semi-living. Or whatever state that he had been in, as life was not precisely the most accurate description by any means.

The voice that suddenly was piping itself over... something surrounded him. His worst fear was realized, there was to be a trial. He held no delusions that he could ever be found innocent, he had known that going in. He had accepted it, and done absolutely everything possible to prevent death. But now it had come, and it was time to pay his pound of flesh. Or more likely everything that he was.

Had it not been for the fear, he would have marveled at the world he was in. Utterly unresponsive to fears or imagination, a world with rules that were set in bedrock and entirely immutable. The marveling would come later, before his death. Thoughts of escape were far from his mind, utterly blocked by the fear. And memory.

[blockquote]Floating in nothing, outside of existence in a sense, Q waited for the beginning of the cozy little universe he liked to call home. It wasn't like he'd never watched this before, but it was one of the phenomena that always drew him back. Some liked watching a star go nova, but that paled utterly in comparison to the beginnings of it all. At least of this universe.

Humming absently, and soundlessly since there there could be no sound when there wasn't... anything really. That wasn't any stranger than laying out on a therapists couch sipping a pina colada and wearing tourist getup from earth in the twentieth century. Well, of man.

While time didn't precisely have meaning in that particular existence, or lack there of, Q wasn't ever precisely sure which it was, it was nearing that time. He could always trigger it, and be God as it were, but he'd done that once before and creating a paradox didn't seem like the best idea. Even he wasn't that egotistic.

With an utterly brilliant flare of light everything began... and he found himself in a what looked very much like a prison cafeteria on earth, complete with with a motley crew of... people from wildly different existences. What in the blue blazes... He tried to leave, and found that he couldn't. He also found that he was in some of the most utterly monotonous clothes known to exist, prison garb. Wrinkling his nose distastefully, he tried to change it. Okay, someone's just toying with me now. Did I somehow run afoul of the council again? I didn't even do anything this time. Then the warden started speaking.

Deciding he wanted a few moments to see what was what, he paused time, which ironically did work, and looked around. When he finally took stock of all of the "prisoners" it was quite possibly one of the more outlandish gro

How curious. About the same time as that other man arrived, asking bizarre questions about the Warden, Julia could suddenly understand their speech. To be certain, their language was stil gutteral and harsh, but her mind was treating it as familiar, and these strange sounds began to signify meaning. She'd wondered if perhaps Athena was whispering in her mind's ear, revealing thus.

Din Moriarti gave no indication that he was aware of the goddess's gift. It was best to keep it that way; it could be advantageous to eavesdrop on these individuals. They seemed friendly enough, and she misliked deception, but caution won out. She could always tell them later, if necessary.

"Very well. It would indeed please me if we quit this location, and your escort would be most welcome," she said loftily, as formal protocol quite required if she was to be going anywhere with a group of strange men. She hoped that they would not get any untoward ideas; though she was not entirely defenseless, these men were clearly bigger and stronger than she was.

Still, their Latin was good, which meant they had to be decent human beings.

OOC: I imagine for those who already understand Latin, the spell won't make any difference to their comprehension. For future reference though, when I use normal quotations, Julia's using Latin, but everyone will be able to understand as per ophie's spell.

But eventually, once Julia becomes wise to this, she may wish to be more guarded, and so I will use brackets when she's trying to mask her Latin from being understood, which means that only Latin speakers will understand. Until Indy and Ben realize she can now understand English, they should probably still use Latin.

Ben's rare graciousness was met with a haughty reply from the young woman. Naturally, he thought. Although it didn't quite seem like standard teenage independence. He was now quite certain this young woman was some sort of Roman patrician. In which case, appearance was everything. One of Ben's key tenants in life. Maybe he would do better to remember it, lest Dean Moriarty slip too much into Benjamin Linus.

The girl followed the group quietly into the jungle. Ben hung back for a moment, giving himself a chance to put Dean firmly back in place. After a second, he caught up with the group, letting his feet drag through the underbrush, stumbling a little. As though he hadn't spent his whole life in the jungle. "I have to say, this is a little different than traveling in planes and staying in hotels." He smiled and laughed a little. "Um, maybe we should have thought about this earlier, but does anyone actually know which way the lighthouse is?"

She had to agree with with Din Moriarti about the jungle. It was no place for a princess, that much was certain. She wasn't familiar with the type of footwear she was wearing, but at least it wasn't open; she looked rather askance at the mud that was already covering the toes of the shoe.

"I believe the lighthouse is over in that direction," she said and gestured.

...wait. She wasn't supposed to understand what he'd said. She could either try to weasel out of it, which was stupid, or act as if it was a new discovery. She choose the latter.

When Corinna spoke, they slowed to a halt. Perhaps for the others, it was merely to see where she was pointing. But no, Ben reasoned, both men seemed too smart for that. They had noticed it too. And judging by the slight creeping red up the side of the girl's face, she knew she'd been caught in a lie. Well, it explained her odd thousand-yard stare back in the cafeteria. Clearly something had happened there to trigger this. She'd just been listening in innocently.

"Erm. You weren't speaking Latin. How did I understand you just now?"

"Well that's strange. To understand English, and so suddenly." Dean said it like an intrigued scholar. Ben meant it as a message to the girl he was making eye-contact with. I know what you're doing as well as you know what I'm doing, his unblinking stare said. It wasn't a threat. Simply an acknowledgement. Mixed with a strange sense of pride.

Later today, in the afternoon, probably, the Warden will make his third appearance. It will be about cell assignments. This next IC of the Warden will be non-linear. That is, it won't be part of the normal profluence of developing, unfolding events. He'll speak to all of your characters roughly around the same day that everyone appeared in the cafeteria, but generally later sometime.

The cells will be a parallel thread to the main story thread (not speaking of threads like collections of posts, but threads like in a story, you know). This way, characters (and their players) won't be confined to just their cells for big chunks of time, unable to freely move about the prison and its grounds. There are 24 named characters in the game right now (25 if you include Snipe's undisclosed character), so I have determined there shall be 8 cells with 3 characters to each. Ideally, an IC post would contain two ICs for a character- what that character does when he's free to roam about, and what that character does when he's confined to his cell.

Please do not make requests for your character(s) to be placed in a cell with someone else's character(s). They will not be granted. Cell assignments won't be set in stone; they will inhabit a middle ground between constantly being changed and total permanence. Although, the first set of cell assignments will last for a good while.

Ask questions if you've got 'em!

IC: The Vam, Karpo
Location: Cafeteria

The Vam was not enjoying being dead. It was just so boring. There was always something going on, some chemical reaction as it increased it?s mass.
In recent memory, it had oozed into the lobby of the new Skypoint development in Cardiff, Wales; and in addition to the people, there had been constant absorbtion of plastics from any number of fittings, the rubber sealing in the windows, stripping the wires from within the walls.

To The Vam?s shame, it had never really noticed until those experiences were conspicuous by their abscence.

Countless people, countless worlds, had sought to exterminate The Vam, but for all that, it had never really considered what death would be like, and certainly never considered it turning out to be a permanently overcast, island prison.

The Vam realised that it had access to the memories of it?s victims, and did a brief skim on the subject of ?prison?, metaphorically dipping it?s toe in, as it were.

Mm. One of the recent firemen had memories of a movie about a ?young offenders? institution, called Scum.
There appeared to be rituals. The Vam made a list... and pondered them.

Several eyeballs glanced towards the remaining prisoners.

Sooo. If there was a shower situation, and any of them dropped the soap, it rather expected it was supposed to *** them, but, The Vam was not even going there!

?you do not want to face the wrath of the Emperor.? The food in the striped armour was saying, at the other end of the cafeteria.

?Emperor-smemperor!? The Vam countered loudly, addressing the Dark Lord, but allowing everyone in the cafeteria to overhear. Re-absorbing it?s current stock of eyes, it tried to rise to its full height, but had to settle for insta-rolling across the ceiling over the heads of the other inmates until it had three football-sized eyeballs extending down from the black pulpy mass, and upside-down, glaring Vader in the breathmask.?The Vam has consumed entire worlds! Had space fleets throw themselves at The Vam.? It drew upon the second-hand memory of the video film. ?The Vam is the DADDY of B Wing now.?

The Vam did not know where B Wing was, or, come to that, if this correctional facility had a B Wing. Also, it probably should have led with the menacing demand, ?Where?s your tool?!? but that boat had sailed.

* * * *

For his part, it did not escape Karpo?s notice that a lot of people around here were speaking English, which as a law enforcement officer in Moscow, he was familiar with, but he had hardly expected to be assigned to a KGB prison containing so many.

Fearing embarrassment in the West, that political body frequently rewarded foreign criminals with a quick trip back to the airport, rather than the arrest and trial demanded by the Procurator General?s office, of which Karpo?s MVD, were a part.
The Ministerstvo vnutrennikh dyel were the police agency who carried out the dosniye, the initial inquiry, into criminal cases

No-one approached him, which did not surprise or bother Karpo.

Even his peers on the MVD, uniformed officers or fellow investigators, reacted to his tall, pale, gaunt features with calling him ?the Vampire? and ?Tatar? behind his back, a fact of which he was fully aware.

He imagined that those present ? Jack Bauer, Indiana Jones, Dean Moriarty ? were reacting the same way.

Though, the Bauer fellow had a look, a way he reacted to another?s hesitation, that had the inspector?s internal radar bleeping. Karpo narrowed his eyes, then widened them again as, in quick succession, he could understand the strange languages being spoken by two men and a girl; the strange blobby thing going across the ceiling tiles, swamping the weak flickering light strips, and hearing it?s Alpha Male challenge

Of course you are, Ben thought wryly. Not that he disbelieved it. Not at all. That was what amused him. After all, what would a remote island be without a little magic? The man was staring straight at Ben now, and he put his hapless Dean expression back on. Hopefully the man didn't notice the switch.

"A wizard?" Ben asked, sounding skeptic. He let out a chortle. "And I thought I'd seen a lot. Oddly, I believe you. I shouldn't, but I do. Well I suppose that spell will help." Ben extended a hand to the man. "I'm Dean, by the way. We haven't really been introduced. And this is Indiana and Corinna. I'm a travel writer, so I've been all around. Maybe if we get to that lighthouse they'll be a map or something, and we can figure out where we are." Ben somehow doubted it. But a little trek through the jungle would help camaraderie, give him a chance to settle in to the group as a guileless man out of his element.

OOC: Cor, I'm a little confused about how the cell thing will work. Conversations tend to be predicated on things characters have already discussed. So when we're in our cells, how are we supposed to know what the characters have and haven't learned about each other  It just seems that might kind of screw up the revelatory process of both cell and island posts...

EDIT: Sith, some of us (myself, Indy, Antryg, Julia) moved out of the cafeteria and outside. Where evidently now there is a jungle because it's first come first serve and, well, I guess we just assumed it was a tropical island. Too much Lost :p

That's a good question. For the cell ICs to work in parallel with the main storyline, it'll have to be just a bit behind in the chronology.

If the main storyline and the cell storyline were traintracks, they would be running parallel to each other.

Like this:

========== (main storyline) ============

========== (cell storyline) =============

The train on the tracks of the main storyline (train signifying the progression of the different groups of characters in their explorations, discoveries, revelations, etc...) is a bit ahead of the train on the tracks of the cell storyline.

=====[][][][][][][](Hi, I'm a cell train!)[][][][][][][][]========

=============[][][][][][[][](Hi, I'm the main train!)[][][][][][][]=========

see?

The coattails nature of the cell storyline is indicative of one of its uses- as a time that the characters reflect on what they have been through together already. Meanwhile, this leaves the possibility open of things the characters learn about each other or realize about the prison, while in their cells, to come up later in the main storyline/train, because that's ahead, in the chronology, of the cell storyline/train. But it does not eliminate the other possibility that characters learn about each other, make discoveries, etc... in the main storyline, too.

Also, posting both IC-cell and IC-main is not compulsory. You can do 'em both, you can do one or the other... whatever you wish to do at any time.

Antryg got that a lot. He nodded gravely at the man, appreciative of the fact that he wouldn't be called upon to do a lot of explaining. For some reason, things always seemed to get worse when Antryg tried to explain.

"Well I suppose that spell will help. I'm Dean, by the way. We haven't really been introduced. And this is Indiana and Corinna. I'm a travel writer, so I've been all around. Maybe if we get to that lighthouse they'll be a map or something, and we can figure out where we are."

Antryg pumped Dean's hand enthusiastically. He was unaccustomed to meeting strangers who approached him without at least some reticence, so Dean's apparent goodwill was a welcome change. Antryg had noticed the shrewd looks the other man occasionally shot at those around him, and was aware that they didn't really match up with the hapless gregariousness Dean seemed to show most of the time. Characteristically, however, Antryg merely made a mental note of the contradiction and didn't hold it against the shorter man. Who would come to such a place and walk around as unguarded as Dean wished to seem?

"Antryg Windrose," the wizard announced in his deep, slightly theatrical voice, before he finally stopped shaking Dean's hand. "I've spent most of my life traveling as well, although never to this universe. Assuming it is a universe, and not a realm of the dead, as the Warden claims. And even if there are no maps in the lighthouse, such a place likely gives the best view of the island, so we could begin to piece together a map of our own."

Abruptly, he turned to the young woman, and gave her the courtly bow that her graceful, authoritative formality seemed to demand. Antryg was much less clumsy than his gangly appearance suggested, and his bow ended up resembling that of a Victorian stage magician, making sweeping obsequies to the crowd before he began his performance. "Corinna," he said, acknowledging what he was certain was the girl's pseudonym. In Antryg's own world, at least, such a woman would as soon have her head shaved in public as allow strange men of any of their calibers to address her by her first name.

He was a little uncertain how to approach Indiana, a rugged-looking fellow who stood with the square-shouldered ease of a man of action, in counterpoint to Dean's studied awkwardness. Indiana's scarred face and air of readiness suggested a fighter, but he'd spoken comfortably with patrician Corinna, and his blue eyes held an intelligent curiosity that Antryg was sure took in more than just the likely location of the next threat. It appeared that everyone here was more than he or she seemed. Was that what the Warden had meant by "Immoral?"

The question echoed in the back of the wizard's mind as he settled for the greeting he would have offered an educated--and possibly dangerous--man in his own world, "Well met, Indiana."

That reminds me. One benefit of the cell storyline will be that players who find themselves disconnected in the main storyline can still interact with the players of their characters' cellmates, while getting their characters in the main storyline back into the "thick of things."

But for now, I don't think anyone will get on your case if you just explain your character going back to the cafeteria or to the jungle group in a sentence.

edit: the Warden will be making his third (but non-linear) appearance soon. I just want to remind everyone that you don't need to incorporate the Warden's third appearance immediately (or even at all) into the main storyline that your characters are progressing right now. It's a non-linear appearance, so it doesn't need to be determined as the latest development, just a development taking place roughly around the same day of the current developments.

"I can never tell if this blasted thing is on..."

"Ah, it is..."

"Good evening, prisoners. As I mentioned a while ago, you will be receiving your cell assignments. Do not petition to be changed to a different cell and do not bother trying to escape the cells, either. I reserve the right to put someone in a different cell at anytime for whatever reason."

"Dean Moriarty, Lord Dark Helmet, and Darth Vader have been assigned to Cell A."

"Indiana Jones, Terry McGinnis, and Ichigo Kurosaki have been assigned to Cell B."

"Shannon Rutherford, Corinna, and The Man With No Name have been assigned to Cell C."

"Gerald Tarrant, Doctor Who, and Alex Mercer have been assigned to Cell D."

"Loke, Shaggy Rogers, and Antryg Windrose have been assigned to Cell E."

"Kanji Tatsumi, Bender, and Boone Carlyle have been assigned to Cell F."

"Jack Bauer, Ana Lucía, and Emil Karpo have been assigned to Cell G."

"Q, The Vam, and The God Emperor of Mankind have been assigned to Cell H."

"Good day."

For Ben and Julia, the Warden used the fake names they've been using instead of their real ones. If there's anyone else who's been doing that, let me know and I'll change the list accordingly.

Also, the list is circular (although not necessarily the physical arrangement of the cell spaces), so assume somehow that cell H is next to cell A. Characters may only talk with the other characters in their cell, or the occupants of the cells next to their own (though obviously there could be no face-to-face conversations, unless one of the characters had a mirror to stick outside the bars of the cell).

You may start cell ICs as soon as you wish, but you cannot refer in anyway to developments that haven't come to pass yet in the main storyline ICs. So for now the cell ICs should be mostly about the characters getting to know each other more. Also, since there has not been a break in the action/progression of the main storyline yet, you cannot yet use information the characters find out in the cell storyline to carry over to the main storyline just yet. After the first break, the cell storyline will then take its place as permanently behind (on the coattails of) the main storyline, so any and all information, plans, etc... may carry over to the main storyline.

Ask 'em if you've got 'em!

IC Darth Vader:

The abomination did not wish to die quietly. Instead, it challenged me! "As for me what!? You haven't got the helmet to do anything. Why I am unrivaled in my mastery of the down-side of the Swartz!"

What was it babbling about? The down-side of the . . . what? It was all nonsense, the rambling of a madman, which since it was dressed in a way that meant an instant death sentence, should not have surprised me.

Addressing the cloaked figure, the abomination said, ?Which means yes, yes I could stand in somebodies way. Especially now that I'm not surrounded by Morons or President Skroob! Which isn't really that much of a distinction, considering the Spaceball genepool."

Spaceball? Was that anything like the Death Star? Had this abomination created its own battle station? How sweet, the child has its own little toy. If it did not know by now, it would certainly learn: toys are easily broken.

It stepped forward slightly as it continued to speak to the cloaked boy, seemingly unaffected by my attempt to strangle it. Had the Force betrayed me? "Also, don't stay out of it. Although I don't need your help, I would appreciate any moral support or obsticles you could supply."

The boy refused to leave me alone, and instead responded to my rather generous warning with, "Actually it is my concern for the moment" as his gesture encompassed the room and its occupants, "We don't know whats going on or who might be of use, so either alienating or removing someone from the situation right now might be a... mistake . . . and have either of you realized that we can understand each other, even though I've been speaking gibberish this entire time?"

?You have been speaking Basic, as do all proper citizens of the Empire. Or you did, in the recent past, as I am about to rip your traitorous tongue from your throat. As for who is or is not useful, I have already made my position clear: Those who help me are to be commended, while those who hinder me die.?

For several minutes, I had sensed something amiss, just at the edge of awareness, a faint tingle from the Force, so it did not surprise me when I heard the voice. ?Emperor-smemperor!? Some shapeless glob of matter was rolling across the ceiling toward me by the time I looked up, and when it stopped, looking down on me from just above with its three massive eyes, mass quivering and undulating like the vile thing it was, it continued. ?The Vam has consumed entire worlds! Had space fleets throw themselves at The Vam. The Vam is the DADDY of B Wing now.?

?The Vam is about to be destroyed.? For its irreverent attitude toward my Master if nothing else. Such disrespect could not be tolerated, especially in front of all these people, even if all who had heard it were themselves soon to die.

Alex was starting to get pissed off.
He grabbed the tall armored man by the shoulder and forcibly turned him to face him, not bothering to hide the fact that he was strong enough to toss tanks around.

"I don't know who you think your are, and I don't know where you think you are but right now common sense dictates that we work together and not start killing each other within five minutes of our meeting!" Alex slowly formed a hardened shell of armor around his body "You've proven yourself a liability and I will NOT allow you to jeopardize the rest of our chances of getting out of this alive so you either calm down, or I will calm you."

OOC: Cor: Terry lied about his last name and supplied Wayne to Jack.

IC: Terry McGinnis

?Killer robot? You think I?d have that kind of dedication? Killing humans is just a hobby for me.?

Having only known Bender for less than a few hours, Terry couldn't tell if the robot were serious. But since they were in a prison, he decided not to pursue the subject.

They were out of the cafeteria and appeared to be approaching a restricted door. "I don't suppose you could break in that room?" He asked the robot.

?Detach easily? Sure. I come apart if I need to. Usually when the lady-bots come out to play.?

Despite the crude response, Jack filed the information away as semi useful. The robot could be disassembled easily and used for Jack's purpose if needed.

Bender then spoke to another prisoner

?Hey buddy, no lookie-loos. Either help us find beer or move on.?

Jack spun around, tensing for a fight.

"Who are you?" Jack demanded.

We gotta find a fridge. We just gotta. My batteries are going to run dry soon. I can feel them in there, shriveling up, just like Fry?s sex life.

Jack ignored the robot for the moment, his eyes were fixed on their observer. Terry however asked the robot if he could open a restricted door.

"It makes sense for guards to keep beer to themselves" Jack observed. He'd known plenty of officials who had done the same.
