Yes, it is really :p. I think that studying history, filmaking or something like that would be better, but then again, in the society that we live in, we have to study what is ultimately going to "bring the bacon in", so to speak. I suppose that we will end us a sad and rich business men, *sob*.

Oh well, could be worse :D.

Better to be rich and sad, than poor and sad :p.

Or maybe it is better to be poor and happy, or alternatively rich and happy?

Or are poverty and happyness mutually exclusive?

Would be a very sad society if all we have are business people around. It is after all the artists who create culture and that is what stands the test of time. Somebody had to build the pyramids, and I don't think it was the guy counting the money.

Nah, it was all the Hebrew slaves. Now there's a course of study you could get your back into (get it?).

I thought it was aliens that built the pyramids?

Or has Stargate been lying to me?

    We may never know, luigi....

And of course art and business go perfectly together - where is the incentive of the artist to create great, mass produced work for diffusion into the culture? An artist with good business sense is a successful one..

    Think George Lucas :D

As much as I hate to agree with Nyder, the best art these days is commercial art.

Have you ever thought about the beauty of the complex designs seen in nature?

I don't believe nature has a design, though it is beautiful.

It's sad in some ways to come to think of it that so much depends on the acquisition of wealth.

True, Grieyls. It is indeed a sad world that we live in. Money buys one good health ( one can afford to at healthly, one can afford good medical treatment), money affords one a good education, money affords one a good night's sleep...I could go on for too long re the benefits of being rich.

It is also interesting to note that having wealth works to reinforce wealth; for example if one can afford a good edcuation then one can use that education to gain more wealth. Hence the "cycle" of poverty!

One day we will live in a money-less society, when we have unlimited resources. I doubt that will happen in the foreseeable future.
