I'm sorry that I could not play,
I was waiting for internet all that day.

I am sure that I will play next time,
and I really do like to rhyme.

Well, I read the books...now to remember who built those fjords. (He did a pretty good job at it, I must say).

Question 4: In the complex mathematics of spacial relationships, the distance between two parallel and equidistant lines can be no greater than pi to the power of n, where n equals the distance between two points on a square when placed on the surface of a sphere with a radius of 4.066574 units. Using the formula above, please figure out the distance between two cubes with a cumulative surface area of 27 microns. You may round your answer to the 8th decimal place.

    Better get to work!!!!

I have some questions for clarity:

    a) "...the distance between two points on a square..." Are we talking about the vertices, or any two arbitrary points? There will be a distance difference depending on the points chosen.
    b) Are we assuming Euclidean geometry (ie. Euclid's fifth postulate)? How this is important is, as it is "placed" on the surface of a sphere, if the square isn't small enough it will contort to the curvature of the sphere. This will cause it to no longer be a square. Are we then concerned with the largest square on the surface of the prescribed sphere that would retain its Euclidean definition (ie. a rectangle which is also a rhombus)?
    c) Are we to assume that the cubes are arranged so that they have parallel sides with one another, or does our choice of the attributes of each cube (within the area parameters, of course) make this irrelevant?

    a) any two points
    b) the square will be "bent" to conform to the surface of the sphere if need be.
    c) it is irrelevant
