Hmm, well i got a 34" tv, spose i could move it downstairs if we're stuck for a location. If ppl wanna go for that then let me know and i'll get permission from the boss to take over the house, I have all on DVD except 3 so all i'd need is for one person to bring that. I may even cook some tea for yas all. And i'm sure sleep over will be ok if ppl don't mind roughing it.

 

Hey Lord O - that sounds like a great proposal!

I can bring 3 with me (well - not officially until after Nov 1st of course... ) and as for roughing it....some tales to tell of the places I have slept overnight....memories of waking up in a private girls convent in Italy spring to mind, in a sleeping bag....

 

I'll be off on Wed the 2nd, I'll see me mam tomoz and see if she's ok with it if ppl wanna do it.

 

Ok, Jace pointed out that middle of the week could be a prob for some, so if it needs to be a weekend then the choices are: Sat night and through the night or Sunday through the day if i can do something with my monday shift.

Basicly, i need ppl to give feedback on these ideas, Which (if any are best) and lay out some plans and then i can beat the meet into beeing.

 

Take it from someone who has undertaken this marathon.

It is not an easy task. Getting a big TV is the least of your problems.

If I were to give you one tip, it would be to start as early as you can. We planned to start at 11.00am and we still didn't finish till 4 in the morning!

Also, you got to have good quality sofas. You might be able to rough it in a office chair for an hour or so, but for something that goes on for 14 hours, your going to want something comfy and spacious.

Which brings me to my next point. Try and keep the numbers down if you can. I had 3 people at my marathon (and one of those was a puppet) and that was enough. More than 5 or 6 and things start to get a little to crampt and hot.

But whatever you do, just remember, the Welsh did it first!!!

And as for Operation Mint Sauce. Bring it on!

 

U may have done it first, But all you had was Nuts and smelly fish. I'll be serving up quality home made fair.

As I see it, the more opportunities to sleep through the Jar Jar parts for me the better...wake me up when A New Hope starts!!!!

I see your point WG about timing - but we are not running to the sheep shearing sessions up here mate!

Our plan (keep this secret chums!)
- Finish the 14 hr marathon
- Pub (or offy)
- Pillage some local village
- Round off the meet with some lightsaber action involving rounding up and slaying the local chavs, ending in a car chase of all surrounding Nova's and Escort XR3i's.

Phew! Then back to work!

 

Sorry I've not been around for the past few days (I've kept up to date(ish) with lurking and random posting here and there).


I have an excuse though. I've been away on a course with work and also have a few meetings coming up which will continue to hamper posting availability.

I also got Black and White 2 so I've been a bit of a sad gamer for the past few days as well


I should be back to proper posting action in or around the start of November but I'll aim to post as often as I can in my little remaining free time as I've limited the B&W playing as it was taking over my life a little.


Og's idea on a SW marathon is a great idea. I'll be doing the same at home after I get the proper DVD (My house is too small for a meet though )

Right, Well due to work on monday, i'm gonna vote for the Sat through the night option. Anyone else?

The sunday one would have to be real early coz i start work at 9 on mon mornin. (If ppl have hearts set on this then i may be able to change it but i'm pushiun my luck atm with all the changes i'm makin)

The sat one i'd say ppl be at mine between 6 and 7.

 

Well Saturday will be harder because of the all night thing but I can take it I think.

 

Just sleep through the day.

 

Saturday would be ok with me too - guess I will have to stock up on Pro-Plus though....I am normally a day person....but am happy to accomodate you mein super host! Its all appreciated!

Lord O - it will have to be the Saturday night (5th Nov) option for me now.

I have to go to a gig that is happening on the night of the Sunday 6th, starting at 17.30 in Durham...thats gonna be one hell of a hardcore weekend! Me thinks Sat day will be spent sleeping in lieu of a long time awake afterwards...
