Welcome Your New Staff Members

As you might have noticed by now, we have some new staff members. You should know who they are, but I'd like to congratulate them all and wish them all luck in their new positions:

Most importantly, I'd like to thank Scott for everything. He's been an invaluable friend, mentor, and leader for me, and he's the reason I'm here with you guys right now. Scott, I wish you the very best, whatever your future holds.

Why the confused face, Roy?

Shouldn't the rest of us of had some kind of say in these jobs? I mean we vote on a CR why not the other titles?

 

We've never had a vote on staff positions since I joined the group. It's always been left up to the CR. I thought about having a vote but thought it would end up being more trouble than it was worth. I wanted to get the positions settled ASAP.

I gave the positions extensive thought, and I mentioned what the positions were probably going to be in the election thread some time ago. Besides, if you look at the active member list on the website, there's hardly enough people for a competition for the positions anyway. I chose people that I feel will be reliable for meet attendance and that have the time and desire for a leadership position.

When you were CR, how did you end up with staff members? Were there elections? Scott didn't have elections for his staff members and no one complained about that...

If you disagree with someone I chose Roy, let me know via PM so we can discuss it. The same goes for everyone else too! I'm not trying to make anyone unhappy here. I've already said my piece about why I chose these people, so without more specific concerns to address I don't really know what to say. I just didn't think it was necessary to have 4 more elections. However, if a good number of you disagree, we can always have an election instead.

 

I don't think that'll be needed. I think it's important for a CR to have a Staff he or she feels she can work with.

When I was CR,the staff was prety much already in tact.There was no need for an election.At the time noone did anything to try to organize things.It was me, Dave, Tony, and Eric pretty much planning out everything,so it just stayed that way.When Eric left for school we needed to fill a gap. And Scott was the most vocal person so I suggested to Dave and Tony that we bring him in.They agreed.

I'm not complaining.I just think maybe you could've chosen more wisely.

But with all that said,I'll drop it.

 

Just in case any of you are concerned, Roy and I have discussed the matter, so no one should worry about it. Again, if you guys have any questions, just PM me and I'll be happy to answer them as best as I can.

 

Just remember, you elect the president, not their cabinet.
