To be fair, this was a fancy beach on a kewl island in the days of the Panonian sea.

 

Two hours to the Bay is a bit too far when one has no car.

Who wants to carpool down to the Chesapeake and take me with them?

 

There are a number of lakes in my county, but few have anything resembling a beach. The nearest proper beach is about an hour away, and it's more of a mud flat bordering the water. The Detroit River isn't a swimming river, either, as the current is just too strong; ironically, they're going to set up a kayak ramp on Belle Isle that'll be ready for use in December.

 

I have a small amount of beach envy (the lovely clear water!), although the beach near where I live is pretty great:

Oh, for the chance to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef...

Don't get me started on how much of a flipping pain it is being water-locked, when the only service available to ferry us to the mainland keep jacking up prices every month, it seems like.

So, since I have nothing else to do this summer, I've decided to sew a quilt for my cousin's baby. I know she wanted more gender nutural colours, even though she's having a boy, but I found some blue fabric with like ships and old maps on it when I went to the fabric store with my grandmother and her sister, so I had to get that.

 

At least we aren't frozen solid for 6 months of the year.

 

You know, building a boat of your own isn't that complicated if you've got the right tools...

You need a boater's license to handle a rowboat or canoe in Pennsylvania.

 

I don't think you need one for a rowboat or canoe, but I wouldn't trust either of those in the Strait of Georgia, and I don't have the strength to carry myself across in a kayak.

Well, that's a relief. Was wondering when you'd ever pull that one off...

 

With the Masuda Method, I have a 1 in 1,365 chance of getting a shiny. I finally, FINALLY hit the magic number.

 

Let's just hope he doesn't decide to take a siesta in the middle of a fight...

 

He's not allowed to battle until he's at least lvl 30. Until then, he'll be babysat by my other Hypno and just learn the ropes.

In some big kitchens, usually seen on US tv or films, there is a big rectangular block in the middle of the room, usually has high chairs or stools next to it.

I expect people can eat off it, use it as a food preparation area. It is not a table. But...what is it called?
