Were Ani and Greedo friends on the TPM?

In the scene where Ani was showing Padme his pod racer, Ani's little friends show up and start making fun of his pod. Were one of those friends actually Greedo when he was small??

 

No. It's the same species, but his name is "Wald".

Originally Greedo was going to appear too, and end up in a fight with Anakin after accusing him of cheating in the Podrace, but it got cut.

 

Yeah after anakin beat greedo up and Qui gonnn scolded him wald went up to Greedo and told him he was going to meet a bad end someday. It was in the deleted scenes on the second disc of TPM.

 

It's almost sad seeing George trying to emulate the Robert Zemeckis style of the temporal based audience in joke character quirk though.

 

Ididnt thik Greedo was 30something in ANH though, i heard from somewhere that it was his father

 

It's definitely not his father. Watch the deleted scene with the commentary before it. It was a cool scene that shouldn't have been left out.

 

Lets see were they friends..hmmm...well Anakin was beatin the livin crap outta Greedo for something so I guess they are as good a friends as Solo is to Greedo too.

It was an awful looking one of those creatures. Like everyone says his name is Wald, and he was played by Warwick Davis, and it was a mistake because the body proportions are exactly like that of Davis, it looks like a midget in a suit.

Yeah, it's a deleted scene where Ani beats the crap out of Greedo. Kinda funny, actually. They should of kept it in, though, to show that Ani wasn't really that nice of a kid. It also would've mirrored ANH, with something bad happening to Greedo both times.

No, it's Greedo. Do you not read the title of the deleted scences? Scuffle with Greedo, not Walt or Wald or Waldo, lol. It's Greedo. I thought it was tight

 

Umm ok...

The scuffle with Greedo scene was cut...but should have stayed in because we get to see Greedo, and see Anakins anger. Which would have been more believable for him to be a sith lord one day.

As for the gigantic galaxy with trillions of beings yet they all seem to know each other. Well Greedo did grow up on tatoonie. And thats where they were so there was a chance of Ani running into him sooner or later.

Movies have to be looked at as independent of any spin-off material they inspire. A movie has to be able to stand alone without explaining away inconsistencies with novels and rpg's.

 

This may be a movie forum, but EU material can be considered legit to many people. We all need to respect that.

 

I am not arguing that.
What I am arguing is that a movie, or series in this case, has to stand on it's own merits as far a plausability goes.
You can't expect the movie goer to have to turn to a novel to explain away a plot hole or inconsistency.
This isn't an anti EU argument at all, it is anti sloppy screenwriting.

 

Who cares? If it says Greedo in the scene title then it's Greedo.
