Were are the Noghri?

Where are the Noghri in the NJO?

Sure - they appeared briefly slightly early on, but I think that they are sorely missing.

I would love to see a squadron of Noghri Death Commando's go undercover against a unit of Yuuzhan Vong warriors.

Absolutely, the Noghri are one of my favourite alien species. One might argue that they are a rip off, but I sympathize with them mainly on the large aspect that they were played for a fool and finally realized it.

 

Ooh, I'd love to see Wookies take on the Yuuzhan Vong.

Both the Wookie debt to Han Solo and the Noghri debt to Leia have, apparently, been put on hold. This is strange, because I would think that these times are those where they'd be most needed.

And I agree a Noghri, Wookie, or even combined Noghri/Wookie commando squad attack is long overdue!

 

Han is still recovering from Chewbacca, in the sence he hasn't gotten a "new life partner", like the Wook. However, Leia has taken over the role nicely.

 

Okay, picture it: A ground battle- a melee battle between the Yuuzhan Vong and 10,000 wookiees with a full mad on looking to vent their spleens.

How many Noghri body guards has Leia lost (KIA) since they first appeared?

 

i think the noghri were poorly written at the beginning of the njo... they were used more like cannon fodder, and not written as the lethal and efficient killing machines that they can be... it seemed like they were no match for the vong...

case in point: bolphur in onslaught (ruin?) is easily killed by one vong...

fortunately, the njo authors are now rectifying that, and making the noghri out to be the formidable force that they are...

but they are still underused, as are the wookies...

At present in NJO the Wooks and Nogs are probably busy waging guerilla warfare which we will not hear about as NJO is focused on the Solos, Skywalkers and a few Jedi, oh plus Wraiths and Rogues. Anyone else doesn't count.

Put Kyle Katarn, Lowie, and Tesar in charge of an army of Noghri, Wookiees, Barabels, and Togorians. The Vong will beg for mercy.

 

I think you underestimate the Vong's power in hand to hand combat. Take Harrer's body gaurd, she was good.

bear in mind that it is the New JEDI Order, not the New Noghri Order, and if they aren't focusing on the noghri, it might have something to do with them not being Jedi....hmmmmm...

 

You are forgetting the most powerful force and most capable anti vong warrior, the YVH droid. drop a couple hundred on a vong occupied planet, watch the fireworks, now youve got your planet back!!!

 

i just keep thinking... Would Jimmy still be with us if they had of brought some noghri with them? The droids were good, but noghri could've helped, too.

 

I think we'll have to wait until Zahn writes a NJO book to see the Noghri attack the Vong, most EU authors haven't included them (even Leias body guards havn't been - do you really think they would let the Solo children be kidnaped?)or given them tiny little roles.

Um, in case you've forgotten, there were Vong body guards at Leia's apartment when whats-her-name tried to kidnapp Ben in SbS. They were written poorly though, because she got away.

I will say the NJO authors have been better at including the noghri (even has body guards) then most other novels/authors.
