I believe there is an earlier "copy" of the boards, but that was made for testing purposes. When we move, it'll be using a newly created copy.

 

What Rogue said. When we're ready for the move the real backup will be taken. Anything added to the boards here after that won't go across.

 

April 1 is now only 3 mmonths and a handfull of days away. Grimby, LAJ and R..J, I hope you realize that the instant you post "April Fools!", we will hunt you down and flog you. Tarring and feathering would be a real possibility, too.

Anything new going on with the move? I was on vacation for the last 2 and a half weeks and I'm catching up on my interwebz.

 

Philip's consultant has put a reduced copy of the IGN database up for Grimby and me to use in helping us to map the data from IGN to VBulletin. And he has given Grimby and me access to the database used by our VB test board. So now we can look at the actual data using a tool called Navicat. It helps a lot!

 

Lets hope the move happens soon - the boards are really slowing down, and bring a pain - I have being trying to post on e message for the past 10-15 minutes...

 

Well all of this is new to me...I'm guessing the 4 year hiatus from the Boards would have something to do with that lol. So as long as we have an e-mail on file we are good to go, correct? I finally found my e-mail that I was using to recover my old password. So basically I had to change e-mail and password today so that I could return to the boards lol.

 

So are the old/locked threads going to survive the move? How about the new/active ones?

 

We're expecting everything to come over. I'm pretty sure the database export will export the old threads as well as current ones.

 

Just out of curiosity, has there been any though to finding a way to easily split threads that were corrupted/combined when we moved from the UBB? It's not a remotely pressing issue in any way, but just something that I thought of while drudging through some old posts of mine.
