In ATOC, I know the gunship couldn't take out Dooku with rockets, (as they were now used up) but why couldn't they have used the gunship's blasters or lasers?

Strilo edit: We have this thread already. Here.

Blasters are very random, lasers probably couldn't fire straight enough to hit a target directly in front of them. Missiles are made for that type of attack, plus they could track the speeder.

The way I remember Pablo explaining it, the Gunship is designed for ground assault and does not have the ability to raise their lasers up. As they were under attack, and pretty much an easy target they needed to fly as low as possible and could not fly higher to take Dooku out.

Sounds goofy to me, but that's the official line as I remember it.

Maybe they had used all of their rockets on the Separatist Forces already. Remember, Yoda had just arrived with the clones and the only thing I can come up with is the ship either didn't have an sufficient amount of rockets to begin with or just the one's Anakin suggested they aim above the fuel cells.
