Were the boards reset yesterday?

I logged in this morning and at boards.theforce.net main page, it says Total Boards: 0 | Total Messages: 579 (579 posted today)

 

There was perhaps a technical difficulty cos the boards were down for about 1 hour earlier. I was getting the usual Snowboards message.

 

I see dead people...

I've noticed this, too. It's probably just a bug.

 

It happens every day. It only lasts an hour.

It happens from time to time. Oldbies should recognize it.

 

I don't remember ever seeing it other than in the very early morning JC time.

 

I hit the "Reset the Internet" button. Now I know what it does.

2. Biggee burp, or
3. Huge fart from too much garlic, or
4. Snowboards had a minor crash, again, trying to upgrade or fix boo-boo

Yeah last night it popped up with that message from Snowboards.com and I was in the middle of posting and when I went to submit it gave me that message. quite aggravating, but I needed to get to bed anyway last night so it was a god send

 

As others have pointed out, IGN were doing maintenance last night, and that is what has caused the change in the board tallies. It should reset itself tonight, and if it doesn't, we'll e-mail the IGN techs to fix it up since something like this has happened before.

Could this be a cover up and the actual truth be that Gandolf broke something [face_shocked]

 

[face_shocked] Maybe it was a cover-up, so that we wouldn't suspect that Gandolf the Grey broke something on the boards.

At least we get to keep our post counts.

If that was correct, I'd have almost all the posts on the boards, and a bunch of people would have more posts than the boards. [face_shocked]

 

Well after the midnight barrier the board count has returned but the total total number of messages (10 million or some such) is gone, its only counting the messages since the boards returned yesterday.

 

Yeah, I noticed that, but forgot to mention it.

 

Does this mean we'll have to sit through the "excitement" of wondering who will get the JC's 10 millionth post again?

every midnight on the boards it says Total boards=0, i dunno when it goes back to normal

 

The post count is still screwed up, though.
