ST We've Seen the Teaser, What will the first Trailer show.

I think they are holding back the Original Three for the end of the first Trailer along with the Larger Imperial hardware, the main droids and Chewie.

 

The big three interacting with the new heroes and some action.

 

Imperial Hardware (Star Destroyers etc.), The Main Three (Leia, Han & Luke), The new characters in fighting action, The Villain with his Master or Apprentice.

 

The first proper trailer will almost certainly come out in May. In that one I except to see some establishing shots of some new locales, as well at least Han, Leia, Chewbacca, 3PO and R2. If all the rumours about Luke have even a shred of truth to them I kind of think they'll hold out showing us him for as long as they can get away with it. But we'll definitely see Han, Chewie, 3PO, R2 and probably Leia.

 

May is such a long ways away. I hope Disney satiates our desire for more new Star Wars stuff within the next six months. It would be cool that sometime in February or March they'd release that rumored 2nd teaser, because its going to be a long, cold winter..

As for the trailer, they are definitely going to show the 'big 3'. Probably a better look at the villain from the teaser. And pretty much else people have suggested.

 

The trailer will show Han and Leia, possibly Chewbacca, 3PO, R2. However I have my doubts that we will see Luke in person in any trailer. At most we'll get a glimpse of him in a poorly lit scene, but that would be about it.

I agree about Luke. Hint at him, but keep his status vague until the movie hits.

I think the first time I see the Big 3 again (or even--as some have speculated--just Han and Leia), I'll be soo overcome with excitement. Seriously, I might have to be hospitalized. Can't wait. I miss those kids so much.

 

If they do show Luke he should have his hood pulled so low that it hides his eyes.

 

That was the one thing i expected the teaser to show of Luke, i think had it been shown the reaction would've been a lot less mixed.

I don't think the next trailer will be much different from this teaser, it'll include all we saw in the teaser with may be a quick look at the other main characters and possibly a few seconds of a lightsaber duel. Seeing this is Star Wars i wouldn't be suprised to see specific character trailers by this time next year.

 

I agree. The full trailer will probably just be vague with minor hints at the plot. Either way, looking forward to it.

The next trailer can show us anything! If TFA is 120 minutes long, then we still haven't seen about 99.4% of the movie.

 

Think Episode III trailer. Switch in Episode VII clips and plot stuff and you have it!

To be honest, who couldn't guess most of that?

Hopefully we'll see the things I really wanted to see this time.

Luke, Leia and Han, along with the rest of the new faces who we haven't had a proper look at, yet.

These are the things I'm anxiously awaiting.

 

I voted the main three, but I have a feeling they will show more of the new characters since they will be a main part of the ST. As long as the trailer looks amazing and they give some kinda hint at what the plot may be about then I will be happier then shooting wamp rats back home

 

This. No way will they allow us not to see the original Big Three in the next trailer/teaser. Plus Chewie roaring as only he can do. And you will see much more of the rest of the cast and a couple of new worlds too.

The trailer will show extended versions of the clips seen in the teaser.

 

If Abrams wants to emphasize secrecy he will show lots of threepio, R2, and Chewie. Every shot with them in it will please fans while giving away as little as possible.
