ST We've Seen the Teaser, What will the first Trailer show.

Show me Luke Skywalker so I can sleep at night.

 

I wouldn't exactly be against them postponing showing Luke in particular until it's actually in theaters. It seems like that kind of scene you would want to withhold for yourself. It will be almost as if you're with the character(s) discovering him for the first time in many decades and making the scene, well, more powerful & meaningful there and then.

 

I kinda hope to see at least Han and Leia in a trailer, but Luke I can see them holding off

 

The Big 3 , Chewbacca , the Droids , some dialog , full shot of the villain , space battle shot , some clues to the plot but still holding a lot back......

 

I'm expecting:

• a lot of sweeping location shots to build a sense of environment that we can become immersed in.
• Shot of C3PO, R2D2 and Chewbacca as their presence is known, but their appearance won't give much plot away.
• Some more reveal of ships and general atmospherics.

I'd like not to see:

• Reveal of Luke, Leia and Han - their appearance may spoil their first appearance in the film.
• The "baddie"

Essentially no plot hint or reveal, that can't be deducted from the opening crawl.
Actually, the opening crawl on it's own would be a great trailer.

 

It will have the 4 most lacking things in this teaser

1) Showing most if not all of the main cast
2) Much more dialogue
3) Giving a general idea of the plot like most trailers do
4) Action/battle scene clips

 

I expect to see everyone and hear everyone except for Luke if we do see him his hood should be pulled low so we can not see his face and he should be in the shadows not say a thing and should not ignite his saber in the trailer, that I want to see in the cinema. Han and Leia I hope to see a lot of and everyone else as well except for the puppet master of the darkside that I also want hidden.

 

We'll see for the first time the Sith apprentice and he will be wielding a lightsaber reminiscent of a trident:

 

Like I was saying, if they show Luke in the trailer, Keep his eyes hidden since they're supposedly a "fire burning behind them". That would be an awesome visual that would be kinda better left saved for the film.

Or if they do a voice over in the main trailer, have it be Luke and don't show him. That way we know Luke's in it but since he's kind of the MacGuffin it would keep things interesting.

 

For the next teaser, they should have Mark Hamill narrate.... in his Joker voice.

 

Well as long as C3PO isn't giving a sermon!

 

Agreed, they should keep the main three in the dark as long as possible.
