It would be great because if she wins an Oscar for Silver Linings Playbook, she would be the first Oscar winning actress in a Star Wars film. Natalie Portman won an Oscar AFTER Star Wars. Actually I have no idea how to word the first sentence properly.

Ok I know most people didn't like the new Tron, but I really liked it.
I really liked Oliva Wilde in it. I know I mentioned her before, here is another look.

    Jedi Material !

As this was a Disney movie they know her.

I love the new Tron. Thought the original was ok too. I don't see what makes it a instant classic beyond words. They are both good films.

I'm sure they'll cast Lucas's daughters. One of them is an MMA fighter according to Google, so I'm sure she'll bring some expertise to the movie. I also hope they cast Adele. She can fight with her lightsaber while singing the theme song to Episode VII: The Skyfall of the Empire.

Lawrence might be too much of a name now she's in her own franchise, but she is decent.

Not seen Silver Linings Playbook yet, I find a romance between Bradley Cooper who is nearly 40 and Lawrence who is only about 23 to be a bit weird.
I've seen pretty mixed reviews for it so far also, certainly little to suggest JL is likely to win an Oscar.

Christopher Lee was doing LOTR and SW basically at the same time, and both as the baddie or a baddie.

Harrison Ford did Indiana Jones at the same time as ESB, ROTJ.

Ewan McGregor did plenty of other movies while starring in SW

Just because they did another franchise doesn't mean they can't also be part of the ST.

Those guys weren't typecast though. Ford was after SW, Guinness did too many roles to be famous for one thing and is now seen as Obi Wan (he didn't have a beard in past movies so I never really see him as Obi Wan), Lee again had done so many roles he was known as many characters to many generations (and his young self looked very different, see The Wicker Man & Bond)

I couldn't take Leonard Nimoy seriously in any other movie outside of ST because he would always be Spock to me.

    So what?

Masterbation is perfectly natural and healthy.

As to "soft porn" - Leia in a metal bikini, that leather dress Padme wears in AOTC, her white outfit getting ripped in just the right way later, the Twi'lek females line Oolaa.... Too late to complain about the issue.

Besides this thread is the only one worth looking at here.

They should just ressurect all of the dead alumns of Star Wars. Disney can do anything right?

Nobody acts in a Star Wars movie.

And maybe the reason why you are unsure of Glau's range is the very thing you mentioned - she gets typecast.

If the gap is forty years, it is going to be difficult to cast 35 year old unknowns.

Casting well known actors hasn't hurt the Marvel series, and Lloyd and Christensen where the only unknowns in the PT.

I find it difficult to concentrate in this thread.

Dude, I can't believe you forgot the green Twi'lek that falls out of her bikini in ROTJ.

I wouldn't mind JL and I also said I wouldn't mind Karl Urban even though he's currently playing McCoy in Star Trek.

Olivia Wilde was the only good thing about Tron 2 IMO and I really liked her in Cowboys & Aliens.

So hot! She could play any number of supporting roles though.

I forgot about that, she has already worked with Harrison Ford then.

Her acting skill sets are diversified from what I have seen of her.

Just because they were unknown to you doesn't mean they were unknowns.

I had seen films where they starred before they were cast in SW. Same for Natalie.

Well they were less known at that time that is for sure, but both had worked before, Natalie was in 5 movies before TPM, look at her in The Professional. Hayden was a mostly TV actor with a decent tract record.

    More Oliva

That lightsabre pic is making me like her more for this role.

Portman was known, but she wasn't a big star and I would wager most people knew her as that girl from Leon. She had done other movies but nothing of note really except maybe Mars Attacks.
She's a big name now because she's been in many big movies since doing the PT, but to most she would have been little more than some child actor who did a known movie.

Ewan was the same, what had he done that most people would have recognised him from apart from Trainspotting? Now he's known to many because he's done numerous big movies.

Hamill was pretty much a nobody, Ford was only really known for American Grafitti.

Alec Guinness & Peter Cushing were really the only globally famous known actors in the OT.

"I am sorry to burst your bubble folks, but all i see here is a thread that caters to ma$turb@tion fantasies by sci-fi fans. Most of them are beautiful ladies but they are sex objects or considered as such. They would end up only being placeholders for a female character, like trying to introduce soft porn into a star wars movie."

YOU SAY ALL OF THIS AS IF ITS A BAD THING...
