what are Luke, owen, and beru eating?

As luke is talking with owen about the new droids in the dining room, what food is he dishing out to himself?

 

They were sitting down to dinner,but it looked to me like they were eating some kind of cereal,like Force Loops.

 

Luke serves himself with a spatula, but he eats it with a spoon. And whatever it is, it looks like it leaves crumbs or fragments on the spatula when he takes some, which means that it's moist. Could be any sort of solid substance with a uniform consistency, like eggs or bantha casserole or something like that. But I'm not sure why he eats with a spoon then.

I always thought they were eating Matzoh Brie. To those of you who aren't Jewish, that's Matzoh (sort of a large cracker) soaked in eggs and then fried up. It's very tasty.

As to what Beru's cooking in the kitchen--looks like endives.

And blue milk must taste ok or else they wouldn't be drinking it, would they?

No, Yoda was the one with the cauldron of Ready Brek. It's quite clear that Luke, Owen and Beru are tucking into a nice spinach and cheese quiche.

As for the blue milk, I just assumed that since they lived in the desert that it was normal milk that had gone off (although had passed the lumpy stage).

 

I always thought Beru was putting peeled potatoes into the food processor.

 

I always thought it was peeled cabbage she was putting into the processor. I always thought the smell, must've been horrendous. I wouldn't like to have eaten Berus dinners.

Yeah, I thought that was cabbage Beru was putting in the food processor, too. The thing that makes me doubt that is most people don't eat cabbage for breakfast. Remind me never to visit the Larses for the holidays.
