What are Morrigan Corde, Hogrum Chalk, Darth Maladi, Konrad Rus, and the Vong up to now?

Those characters (and the Yuuzhan Vong) remain the biggest open threads from volume 1 of Legacy.

Morrigan Corde is a skilled agent and politician. Is she still active? Or enjoying retirement, and trying to renew ties with her daughter and ex-husband? Whatever the answer, she still needs some resolution.

Hogrum Chalk announced the creation of the Triumvirate, and has the ear of the new Empress... after turning Emperor Roan Fel, his trusting brother-in-law, mad with the dark side and getting him killed. What exactly is his role in the new government? Will his treachery ever be discovered?

Darth Maladi may be a bit mad now, but she still knows how to create the Omega Red virus (and other abominations) within a few days and limited materials. If she isn't dealt with quickly, what's to stop her from unleashing Omega Red again?

Konrad Rus... he disappeared, and we never really discovered what his motivation and plans were. What was he up to, and what is he up to now?

Eshkar Niin... why did he kill the Empress?

Finally, with their name basically being cleared, will the Yuuzhan Vong step up again, and not only restore the worlds of the Ossus Project but also the worlds recently devastated by Vul Isen (such as Dac)?

You missed one important Legacy character that remains unaccounted for.

Saarai, the daughter of Darth Wyyrlok III

Saarai is one of plenty others I considered but chose not to include in this topic. She does not (yet) have the kind of power and influence that Morrigan, Chalk, and Maladi already have, and she doesn't have a still-mysterious motivation like Niin or Rus.

I'd like to know why Legacy can't get a novel. KotOR got a novel, or three, Dawn of the Jedi got a novel, why not Legacy? Then we would know what they are up to :p

How is that minor character important?

Agreed. I for onew would like to know Chalk's motivations and how he ended up working for the Sith. As Imperial Battlemaster he already holds on of the most important seats of power in the Empire, I hope it's not something as generic as "Krayt offered him even more power".

And Niin was one of the most menacing Sith we have seen in a long time. His backstory would be nice to elaborate on as well.

The Yuuzhan Vong are worshiping The Ganner on Zonama Sekot.

As for Chalk's motivations, see this thread:http://boards.theforce.net/threads/hogrum-chalk-whats-the-deal-bro-in-law.50012761/#post-50881611

I actually agreed on this so I'm not at all surprised that the writers have gone along with this idea for Chalk.

Interestingly we have not seen any Moffs in Leg 2, so they might have all been gotten rid off, at least as position if not in person.

Do the Hutts still hold slave worlds? Should be an interesting topic to explore, considering the slavery theme in the second arc of Legacy 2.

They have for 25000 years, doubt anyone will ever get around to changing that. ;)

Ah FOTJ already tried and did it so badly it was laughable, plus Leg 2 is clearly a more personal story.

    Klatooine got GFFA membership.

How long do you think the Hutts would last against Bwa'tau or Darklighters fleets? [face_rofl]

And clearly lost it again later ;) also they are not the first planet to leave the Republic to join the Hutts.

Ask Xim and the Vong how fun their war with the Hutts was. :p

Xim wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed. And ask that skinned Hutt on Ylesia how things turned out. ^:)^

A little thing called the Fel Empire happened and killed the GA. Nimban is one of the planets that left the Republic to join Hutt Space.

Sharp enough to conquer thousand upon thousands of worlds. ;)

Rather well ;) Hutt Space is still there and recovering better then the rest of the Galaxy from the Vong War once it was over, whilst the Vong Empire is gone.

I take that to be a concession? That has nothing whatsoever to do with Klatooine somehow going back to the Hutts.

Still dumb enough to accept that duel with Boonta.

    [/quote]
Let's play that logic out. The Hutts were conquered by the Vong and recovered well. The Galactic Alliance defeated the Vong, and so....

Funny enough the Legacy era campaign guide mentions Klatooine is again run by the Hutts with the Council of Elders as proxy so :p, which is all kinds of hilarious actually, seeing how it was published before the first FOTJ book, so it essentially already retconned some of the insanity of that series before the series committed said insanity. :D

Though no mention how it happens, but then the GFFA being dead and the planet smack in the middle of Hutt space, take your pick, either they just send troopers their, the Klatooinees got their senses back or someone woke up to economic reality. Hell it properly did not actually even matter to most Klatooinees since they ought to be spread all over Hutt Space, just like Twi'leks.

The Hutt was just smart enough to see that Xim's ego was his weak point. ;)

They were not conquered, no more then the rest of the galaxy, sure they lost worlds, but they are still actively fighting by the end of the war, together with the Alliance for that matter, and the Vong are said to have never been able to penetrate the Bootana Hutta worlds.

Page number and specific quote? And how is the proxy set up, if that is true?

And how long do you think the Triumverate will let the situation stand, if so? They're pretty big on returning things the way they were to pre Sith Imperial War.

They were conquered, at least more so than the Galaxy at large. Bootana Hutta makes up a smaller portion of Hutt Space compared to Vong territory (which only took up about half of the Galaxy total).
