Me too! I'm observing the Ember days too. In addition, I'm going to try to do the complete Divine Office, Stations on Fridays and Divine Mercy at 3 PM. In light of the recent news I'll probably add a Rosary for the Conclave.
I'm torn. I used to give up abstaining from meat on fridays when I was a kid and in catholic school. But now I'm a vegetarian, so I have no damn clue
Yep - Wed is Ash Wednesday.. Easter is early this year - March 31. So anyone giving up chocolates for Lent won't get to eat their Valentines Day choccies til Easter.
I will continue to enjoy not being religious, but remain happy for my friends who choose to be and partake in Lent and cheer them on in their decision of what to give up.
List of things I can't give up: Beer Cookies Interwebs Hygiene Meat Work Worrying about work TV (never watch it anyway) I could give up complaining about school...and focus more on the benefits of taking classes at a 3rd-rate public college....
I should give up ordering books from Amazon for Lent. I might make an indentation in my reading pile if I did.
