Ah. I thought 1000 pages was that long for you :p

I don't remember exactly who, but someone from my family has that book. If it's good enough to re-read, I may borrow it and have a try. Once the exams are over, I feel a hunger for normal literature...

Then you don't know what's normal in poland, and based on our politic leaders and their scandals I would say that 'Masochistic courtesans and Royal intrigue' is normal :p

Our vice-PM: "So... one can rape a prostitute? [face_laugh]"
    You see what I mean.

And seriously, it's totally normal compared to logic, cognitive psychology and history of political thought.

On topic: I've just finished Wyrms. I'll start Dick's We can build you tomorrow.

    I adore this book.

I'm still on my Philip K. Dick spree, currently on "World made by Jones". And want more :p

I've just finished Speaker for the Dead (and before that, Ender's Game, of course) by O.S. Card.

I'm going to begin with Kushiel's Dart tomorrow :)

    Yay, Kushiel :p

I started a new series: Trudi Canavan's Age of the Five. Pretty good actually. Well, the first book, Priestess of the White is anyway :p

Yes, I did. I don't think he's boring anymore. Now I think he sucks!

Seriously, I don't see what do you see in this guy. :p I still have to read the X-Wing series, but if they are all like the rest of Allston's opus, then I don't think it is worth wasting the time.

It's funny dammit! Don't think of the plot, don't think of the silly characterisation, don't think of the uber-dark-oh-no-we're-all-about-to-be-killed-by-Jacen line the series is developing; just think of how fun it is to be alive and reading a comedic Star Wars book.

I don't know... maybe something gets lost from your viewpoint, because just about every native-English-speaker who reads SW books that I know thinks Allston wins :p

And the X-Wing series has a decent plot that Allston made mostly himself, with just a bit of help from Stackpole, Zahn, Shapiro and Rostini. In LotF, everything has to go through the other two authors first, so Denning and Traviss must think it's good, otherwise they'd reject it :p

There are funny lines and comic situations, but the plot is... dry. A couple of jokes do not make a good book, in my book. :p

Then blame Denning and Traviss for leaving him nothing left to write. Think, Allston got to cover the opening, then Traviss and Denning did loads in Bloddlines and Tempest, so Allston had to stall for time in Exile, and then Traviss and Denning will steal everything again.
