JCC What are You Thankful for this Thanksgiving?

I'm thankful for Genghiz Khan and the Mongol horde, without whose raping and pillaging of half the world's population (eh, give or take) at the time, the extra-Sinitic world would not have been introduced to rice before much later, and all those delicious South and West Asian curries and other dishes based on rice as a staple would have instead been based on bread or, worse, not have come into being at all; a world in which I, for one, would not have wanted to live in.

I'm thankful all year round I live in the actual first world and have health care provided by the state.
